1. It has to be Jeb and Katharine

because the two below it could not have happened had they not stolen the election. They're both in jail on short rations, right?

2. The last three listed above other, I think have had the greatest...
...impact for nearly all Americans and for that matter over much of the world, so I would vote three times to include those.

4. I see that option no. one, the Clinton blow job, got two votes.
Why? Are the people who voted for that freepers or just total dumbasses? Oh wait, freepers are dumbasses. Better to get a blow job than send innocent people to their needless deaths.

7. They are obviously freepers lurkers.
That there are so few shows that the mods are doing a good job, I suppose.

15. why? my guess is
my guess is that they thought the poll was a bit rigged--how can you compare general horrors with personal ones?--so they said well i'm going to choose a personal one anyhow, one involving the president.

i voted for exploitation of 9/11 but if you add up each of those personal examples, the result is pretty devastating too--none are the least bit victimless.

17. The point of the poll is...
...that the silly stories get MORE attention in the media than the real ones. There is no reason for Scott & Laci coverage outside the SF Bay area. It's a local story, and a tiresome one at that.

19. point taken but....
note that all the other choices deal with women and sexism--they are not supposed to register. and the choices mean they still don't or can't register here.

22. response
I mean the choice has to be between the larger political ones and not the personals ones--so all these sexist stories get no votes.

Imagine if one of the choice was the lynching of three Blacks in a Texas town--well that's only three dead as opposed to the Iraq choice. But say you hate having to make this choice and leave lynching out of picture (no vote).

got it?? (besides the OJ and Clinton stories are not just stories that the press dwelled on too much but also pretty grave, given the position of the perpetrators)

23. I'm sorry, but you must be coming from a very different worldview.
I don't see ANY of those cases as being about sexism. The fact that the victims were women is incidental. They were all people killed or hurt by other people. Except for Clinton - he was serviced by a very eager young girl who knew just what he was doing.

They are also storries that have ABSOLUTELY NO BEARING OR RELEVANCE WHATSOEVER on the lives of ordinary Americans, whereas the last 3 choices do.

The first 6 choices are nothing but a phony circs to keep us distracted from the deliberate destruction of our country.

I should have put in Michael Jackson, I guess - no women involved there, but equally irrelevant to anybody's life but Michael's and his victim's.

5. Please define "outrageous"
Do you mean that it's the most unbelievably horrible thing to break into the news or it's the most ridiculous thing to be considered a scandal?

I'd pick Bush & Harris for the first meaning and Clinton for the second.

8. The Clinton "scandal" was definitely the most outrageous
Simply because it wasn't a scandal, and it hurt nobody. However, the faux Clinton penis "scandal" cooked up by the repugs hurt lots of people and may have indirectly allowed 9/11 to happen.

Bush's scandals are all deadly serious, but not necessarily outrageous. I guess what I'm trying to say is, the scandal proper doesn't always equal the acts the lead to the scandal. Bush's acts are outrageous, Clinton's acts weren't.

13. Then you shouldn't click Clinton
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 07:02 PM by UdoKier
You think the outrage was the right-wing witch hunt and media circus, not the actual affair or the fib. You should click "other".

The fact that none of shrub's foibles have been reported on relentlessly by the media. I continue to be amazed that, with his record, both before and after his selection,it continues to enjoy the support of 40some % of my countrymen.

12. THis is the HARDEST poll I've ever done on this site
Pick between Dumbya and the war, or Jeb and the voting theft?

I came done on the war, but still, without Jeb would Bozo have even been able to find his way home to Crawford?

Hard pick for sure.

18. Other: Plame
Since there is a real, live, grand jury investigation in progress, and real, actual indictments will eventually come down.

I'm losing hope in this happening before the election, but perhaps an impeachment will be in order, provided we can get the House / Senate back.
