I sent a letter to US News & World Report re: Parlock
This week's issue has an entry in "Washington Whispers" telling about how poor Mr. Parlock's daughter cried when the mean old Democrats tore a sign out of her hands.
More sickening was the heartwarming story about how Shrub and his faithful sidekick Barney (the fish killing dog) sent the poor girl a new sign. No word whatsoever in the report about Mr. Parlock's 'serial victim' history or his relationship with the photographer who schlepped the story to Drudge.
Today I fired off a message to them about some facts pertinent to Parlock's case. I offered to provide links (but what 4-year-old can't Google Parlock's name)? I also told them that I expected them to do some more thorough checking in the story and I would be looking for some clarification in next week's issue.
I'm not holding my breath waiting for the story to be properly told but I was greatly relieved that DU was able to thoroughly debunk this whole escapade so soon. Thanks DU!
I do believe that it's worth it to peck away at those in the media. You feel like you're only one person, and what's the use, but if enough of us do it they'll begin to get the picture. That we're watching them, and that we care. Thanks.
