Does anyone feel like the other shoe is about to drop??????
for two weeks I feel like I have been in suspended animation.
like the other shoe is about to drop.
i can't explain it, but something BIG is about to happen.
i walked into my yard last night to feed my dogs, something stopped me dead in my tracks, something was different, the air felt different, there was a disheartening quiet.
obligations seem unimportant right now, it is almost as if if I don't pay close attention to the world right now i will miss a life changing event.
some world event is about to take place.

the world is about to take a huge leap forward or vice-versa.

which is it?

can you feel it?

is it just me?

1. Me too
For a while now but especially in the last two weeks. I go on with my committments and obligations and do my best but they do seem smaller now and less important. I am praying for peace.

4. Forward. Definitely forward. I can feel it.
In fact, I think there's a whole closet full of shoes about to drop.

Think good, happy thoughts. We're going to win this thing.

5. My Mom says this too
I guess with the Gaurd scandal, Kitty Kelly, fluctuating poll numbers, and a major uptick in violence in Iraq there is a tension in the air.

If you see Bush reading to children take cover.

14. They've said "terrorists" WILL try to disrupt the election,
and they would know.

The only way I don't see it happening is if Bush is looking at landslide numbers. And that's not happening.

16. this subject is definitely fueling my unease
a year ago i told my wife that people will take to the streets if they try to terraize or steal the elections.

today, i am not so confident.

15. It's the FEAR!
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 03:23 PM by kayell
Take 2 beers, turn off the TV (this part is essential), get a good nights sleep and go for a long hike on the weekend. Don't turn the TV back on until symptoms have abated. Continue avoiding any viewing of Cheney until you have been symptom free for at least 2 weeks.

------------------------------------

By the way, I too dread what Cheney and his puppet may have in store for us this election season, but dwelling on it won't help.

17. The only good thing about what Cheney said about
"we may get hit again" is, they wouldn't dare allow us to get hit before the election so we don't have to worry about that. You can bet they are doing everything they should have done prior to 9/11 now to make sure nothing happens before they get in again - Heaven forbid.

19. Look on the Bright Side, aammpp.
Just any minute now, the DU Skeptic Squad will be along to point out to you how there's no Scientific Proof that you could be having feelings of unease (they can't be measured, you know).

Then, they will show you how anything that cannot be measured cannot possibly hurt you--and you will feel a lot better. Although you will not be able to measure that, either.

20. I feel it.
I have felt it as well. And I've also noted a difference in the air. If seems heavy. Mournful. I don't know what it is, but I feel this stone in my gut, and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

23. I agree with everyone here, don't watch so much TV News.

And try to not be so nervous...

Of course, that's not to say the saucers won't land tomorrow, but trust me, even avoiding TV news, if something *really* important happens, you'll hear about it.

26. yes. very plausible though people arent generally familiar with that
natural reaction to less sunlight etc

then again, any day with bush at the helm does leave the possibility always open of impending (fill in the blank)

27. sorry, it's probably just you...
the tone of the original post was poetic though I will give you that. But I have lurked here for almost two years now I think and this type of thread ( Is is just me, or...I think we've turned a corner...Is the other show about to drop?...etc) is so frequent on here it's become a cliche. It also seems so self-centered IMHO. These types of threads seem to be posted every day so to all of you that are posting them, keep at it, one day one of you will be right and the next day the "other shoe actually will drop" and you will be vindicated. One day something BIG will happen, I guarantee it, but there is no point in saying you and you alone feel it coming. It's so tired.
