'"Nineteen individuals have served both in the National Guard and as...'
'... president of the United States, and I am proud to be one of them," Bush said at the National Guard Association of the United States conference.'

Huh? Almost half of US Presidents have served in the National Guard?

This is from an AP story on Yahoo.

Maybe some were on active duty and THEN went in the Guard...is that what he is talking about?

More precisely, has there ever been another President that was ONLY in the National Guard?

I'm trying to Google this every which way, but have been unsuccessful so far.

1. Well, here is a list of US Presidents and..
...their military associations, if any:

I don't see 19 associations.

3. This would seem to be yet another Bushevik lie
I guess if I were them and I knew that everyone was too afraid and too in the pocket to challenge even the simplest lie, I would lie all the time, too.

Actually, no I wouldn;t. Busheviks are scummy monsters.

9. You're shortchanging Reagan
He was in the Army Reserve for almost 5 years before being called to active duty in 1942. Because of his eye-sight, he wasn't assigned to overseas duty and instead stayed state-side making training films.

7. Another Chickenhawk misdirect half truth spin....
I think Bush* is counting governors that became president as as having served in the Guard. What this idiot doesn't get is the fact that governors command the Guard, they don't serve in the units.
