msnbc says high ranking dems are silent on Assault weapons ban
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 08:55 AM by rainy
I don't remember seeing them asking the dems their thoughts and I only remember hearing a passioned speech supporting the ban by high ranking sen. Fienstein. Are Dems silent on this for politics?

1. WhooooooooHOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The ban is dead! Let Freedom Reign! Adjustable stocks for my rifle...HERE I COME! The ban is now a footnote to history, another failed Authoritarian Gun Control Scheme.

2. Funny, Kerry's been quite vocal...
Meanwhile, the Republicans are hiding behind some procedural bullshit...

3. Huh, I remember any number of folks speaking out on it
But of course, they're Democrats and the media don't have time for them. Here's an update on Kobe! Whoops, I mean, Mark Peterson.

4. wait til people use Assault Weapons when upset about Jobs and Healthcare
then the GOP will get worried because they may find themselves on the receiving line of fire...but first they work on making flag burning a crime and they chip away at our other rights before they go ahead and take away the guns...can't take the guns before they take away your right to speak out about it.

5. I believe most Dems are smart enough not to support the AWB
Since it was a "feel good" law that in no way made any of us safer.

The banned firarms were identical in fuction and lethality to the supposed "benign" firearms. All of them (banned AND "benign") were magazine fed and fired only one shot per trigger pull.

Maybe now we can focus on REAL gun control, by mandating state-level background checks on all firearms purchases, even private sales.

We could do this by tying fed public safety dollars to the background checks, like how the .08 blood alcohol level for drunk driving was a "string" attached to federal transportation dollars.
