I wrote an ad for "Billionaires for Bush" but they haven't acted on it - so screw 'em. Thought I'd share it and see what people think -- perhaps there is someone here who might want to produce it. It is based on the "Billionaire Moment" ads. Here is a link to check some out. The billionaire announcer's tone is key - she is never really nasty, just oblivious to the plight of ordinary people. Perhaps my ad was too cynical/realistic.
http://www.billionairesforbush.com/moments.phpHere's my proposed text for a new ad. It is based on the pro-business wing of the Republican party using the religious right to maintain power:
"Politics makes strange bedfellows.
Waking up next to Jerry Falwell after a night of debauchery
can be quite a shock for a billionaire.
We don’t align with the religious right
in order to ban abortion or force gays back in the closet --
good Lord no!
We push these positions precisely because they'll fail!
The bigger the defeat, the better --
it makes holy rollers madder than hornets.
Then they throw their support behind pro-billionaire candidates
in the next election.
We get bigger tax cuts -- laughing all the way
from the bedroom to the bank!
Let them keep thumping the Bible.
We'll keep thumping the servants --
while maintaining our position on top."
