2. Yeah, I see lots of evidence supporting that...
Go to any county fair, monster truck rally, or gun show and just look at the bumper stickers.

3. The ones who aren't Republican out of self interest
are the stupid ones.

The number of people who truly benefit to any real degree from Republican policies is small. There are very few people affluent enough to gain much from the tax cuts, etc.

The rest are just stupid - stupidity defined as being willfully ignorant of your own interests.

4. There is certainly a lot of truth to that.
When I think over my life, all of the people I have met who were dumber than dirt (I.Q. in the double digits)were Republicans.

6. So have I - many of them on this very board
And no, I'm not referring to you, yardwork.

All in all, I'll take a stupid liberal over a stupid wingnut anyday.

9. I have also known liberals who were too smart
So smart, so attuned to nuance, yet so bereft of common sense that they think themselves into a corner.

I sometimes catch myself wondering if John Kerry is one of those.

13. Did you sign the registration form that certifies young beautiful & blond?
Sign it, and you're officially young, beautiful, & blond. That's all it takes.

15. I signed a form in March that let me vote in the Democratic primary
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 08:26 PM by 0rganism
Prior to that, I was officially and intentionally a Green. After that, I was officially a Democrat, whatever my intentions. I could tell people I'm a Green, but I'd be lying. Officially, I'm a Democrat and if I defected from the party to vote for another candidate, I'd be in the same statistical heap with other Democratic defectors.

Like the 240000 Democrats For Bush in Florida's 2000 presidential election.

It's not all that hard to become a Democrat.

11. How stupid is this?
While out and about this Saturday, I had the car radio tuned to the local NPR station. They began a program that was purportedly about "moderate Republicans". Since I was 20 minutes or so away from home, I decided to listen.

The first segment was about Log Cabin Republicans. EVERY SINGLE person they interviewed voiced DEMOCRATIC views on how gays should be treated in the U.S. So Ñ why the hell do they plant a big "R" on themselves?

When I was about 2 miles from home, they switched to some repulsive Alabamian who claimed to represent the far right of the right wing Ñ his agenda was "small government, no taxes!!!, and prayer in the schools,"

By this time, thankfully my driveway was in sight.
