Ivan is gunning for Tallahassee. probably on Tues.
Talked to my cousing in West Palm, they will not have power until Friday. How this could possibly help Bush is beyond me.
And I'm really tired of seeing Jeb's face acting like he cares about us peons.

1. That thing is scaring me half to death
Edited on Sat Sep-11-04 11:47 AM by kayell
A bit more left of its current projection and it hits my daughter and granddaughter, stays on course and even here in upstate south carolina we may feel its fury. (SC remembers what Hugo did many, many miles inland.) A little to the right and it hits the peninsula of FL, already devastated by 2 earlier storms this month. :scared:

No matter where this thing hits it is very, very bad news. Like you I am watching it carefully. Wondering whether my daughter might have to evacuate this time, and how soon we can figure she is probably safe. Ugh.

Best wishes, stay safe.

3. I'm a little concerned in GA too
Of course, it makes me feel a little selfish to say so since other parts of the country (viz. FL, most surely south GA) are likely to suffer more. But we have a bunch of mostly oak trees, some of which are in very bad shape after a multi-year drought. Some of which are damned close to the house. :-( This property lost a number of trees when Opal roared thru some years ago (before we lived here). I can't help but worry some.

7. I'd be a lot more concerned if I was in GA
We saw a lot of tornados spawned from Frances in SC. It can be amazing the damage a big storm can do far inland.

I have to admit that right now my main, selfish concern is whether it will take another westward turn and hit my daughters area. She is in a 14% chance area now.

It does feel selfish to worry about my personal concerns when I know that many, many people are going to be in bad trouble no matter where it goes. But there you have it. I just hope it doesn't make any last minute changes in direction into unevacuated like Charley did. I was both incredibly relieved that Ivan turned and avoided the direct hit on Jamaica, and reminded again how horribly unpredictable a hurricane can be.

5. If you look at the extension of that map, it comes right through
the panhandle, looks like it has slowed though. Maybe it won't hit til Wed?

4. Jumping Jeb-Bozo !
Right up Jebbie Bush's butt, as "The Family" hits the bookstores.

Now what kind of karma causes this?

Attention: We are attaining ballistic fecal rotational displacement
(the shit is hitting the fan).
