I listen to liberal talk radio via the net all the time. Why do some
stations go silent when a local ad is aired, and some do not?

I was once told that it had something to do with local advertisers only paying for local coverage, and I accept that, but some stations air everything. Why is there a differenc?

It drives me nuts with the ones that go silent! I keep thinking I've lost the stream!!!

5. I do stream AAR for most shows, but I do Oregon radio, Calif.
after midnight, and a Pgh. station in the morning. The PGh station and the Oregon station don't go silent, nor does the AAR, but the Calif one does, and they have a LOT of commercials!

BTW, I also get the silent treatment when I listen to Steeler football on Sundays.
