Forget those carefully worded, clinically phrased statements squeezed out with eyedroppers from his medical team. This guy's doing great. William Jefferson is — to use a popular expression — something else. He has beaten so much in his life that it would appear bypass heart surgery is just another thing to overcome. Monday night, same night of the day of his operation, he was already on the phone. Mind, I'm not saying the man was calling his pizza shop for a quick delivery or anything. I am just saying he was on the phone. With close associates. For a significant time.
