Oliphant in WP finally shows Bush Air Guard cop out.....
This is from the Washington Post. It's about time, but I think the wall has been cracked.

4. Terrific ...
Also, highly recommend Frank Rich's Sunday column -- very critical of Bush and along these same lines.

8. Exactly
Here's a potion of and link to Frank Rich's column. The article nails it and Kerry needs to take its advice:

September 5, 2004
FRANK RICH

ONLY in an election year ruled by fiction could a sissy who used Daddy's connections to escape Vietnam turn an actual war hero into a girlie-man.

As we leave the scripted conventions behind us, that is the uber-scenario that has locked into place, brilliantly engineered by the president of the United States, with more than a little unwitting assistance from his opponent. It's a marvel, really. Even a $10,000 reward offered this year by Garry Trudeau couldn't smoke out a credible eyewitness to support George W. Bush's contention that he showed up to defend Alabama against the Viet Cong in 1972. Yet John F. Kerry, who without doubt shed his own blood and others' in the vicinity of the Mekong, not the Mississippi, is now the deserter and the wimp.
...snip...

11. Oliphant Has Bush Getting Smaller Every Week- I heard an
interview with him saying he's doing that because the more we find out about Bush the smaller we realize he is

12. Gee...
he did look a bit shorter when he came to the podium at the convention. He seemed a bit hunched over as well...supporting all those lies must weigh a ton.

13. Finally! We need to remember
Edited on Sun Sep-05-04 12:29 PM by jwirr
that the American public has an incredibly short attention span. If Kerry had come out swinging months ago and the papers had said all this stuff way back when - the voter's would have forgotten half of it already. We as a people are ever ready to forgive and forget. Kerry and even the papers are right to wait till it is closer to the elections to get to the point and hammer it in. Voter's will vote on what they know at the time, not on what they heard months ago.

I still have some faith in our reporters, even though I have none in the owners of media. Up until now little things have "leaked" out - now it is time for the people reporting the stories to step up for freedom of speech - tell it like it is - even if your job is on the line - so are ours. This thread has two instances of courage in journalism - come on let us have a flood of truth. Help us save our country like you have in the past. Where is the Dan Rather I remember?

14. skewed perspective straightens it out
Funny how the skewed perspective of the cartoon, and the underlying satire, straightens out the whole issue.
Little Bush runs away from war, then doesn't hesitate to send others to his war of convenience.
