SNL's Darrell Hammond is a Bush supporter...the proof
I think there had been some question before. Well, here's the proof. He's a Bushie.

NEW YORK - (KRT) - Party politics at the Republican convention sometimes meant Joe Piscopo impersonating Frank Sinatra singing to John McCain. Or Darrell Hammond saluting both President Bushes after noting his military upbringing.

snip........

SNL stalwart Hammond, taking the stage at a quarter past midnight, whipped out an arsenal of impressions ranging from Al Gore to Bob Dole to Arnold Schwarzenegger. But he made a more lasting impression by telling the throng, "I'm from an Army family, so I support the war presidents. I like this one. I liked the first one," meaning the senior President Bush.

He later asked, "You know why people like Republicans? Because Republicans don't back down."

1. Oh, vomit.
:puke:

Yes, Republicans won't back down even when it is very, very clear that they are completely in err.

4. Is that why he isn't funny?
Have you noticed that the right wing comics aren't funny? Maybe it's because their humor comes from meaness not from pain like left wing comic's material.

5. He did a gig at the correspondents dinner, trashed Gore.
After Gore showed succh class in stepping down Hammond did nothing but Gore jokes for W's benefit. Not one joke even close to making fun of the boy king.

He is a piece of shit. Anyway the dems got the funny guy, Will Ferrell. Hammond is second rate comedian and intellectual. F him.

6. It's easier to not back down
when someone else is fighting your battles. Must be good to be a republican. You can start unnecessary wars and watch other people die while you act tough.

15. I don't know about his salute to Giuliani, but
he stated that he's a Democrat. I saw it somewhere that he was talking about running for Governor of N.J.

8. "Republicans don't back down." Where did this shit get started???
Did JFK back down? Truman dropped the bomb, for Christ's sake.

Darrell, sorry to hear that you've drunk the Kool-Aid. But you should learn that "not backing down" can be a major personality fault as well.

Custer didn't "back down," either.

11. I agree. He was going to make it so far. Soon he will be a . . .
nobody if all the Dems treat him like the Republicans treat a celebrity that has a different viewpoint.

I wonder what "issue" keeps him leaning to the right. Usually it is the propaganda of gun control and/or abortion.

Who cares . . . not me.

13. Damn--I thought Darrell had a higher IQ than that
I don't see why anybody from the military wouldn't take one look at that duty-shirking AWOL Bush and his Chicken Hawk gang and throw a grenade into their soup.

Not to mention his fragbait daddy, George "Friendly Fire" Bush.

Maybe no one has told him the truth yet.

14. I've always thought he was funny
and I still will think he's funny whether hes a repub or not. I for one can actually still laugh at people's jokes when they may make fun of me and people like me.

I figure...lighten up. Racial jokes, religious jokes, political jokes. Their jokes. And they're still funny no matter what side they lean to. At least for me.

17. snl is still running?
lorne michaels, snl bigshot, is devoted to israel and snl has therefore become a bush promoter, even prior to 911; cuz geeb believes in ...well geeb believes in something. And Israel benefits from it, somehow.... though many think that israel has simply mortgaged its future to snakes (the christian right) ...What's needed is what an aussie labour leader calls a 'conga line of sukkholes' so guys like hammond, neocon goof rob sneider and zell miller's boy dennis miller, can be kept track of. Some of them, like drew carey, for example, have tried to avoid the limelight that their bushloving attracts: carey's tv show wound up recently w/out any fanfare. Others, like john malkovitz, robert duval, james woods, bruce willis, singers toby kieth, charlie daniels, promoter don king, sexpot britney spears etc do affect how the herd thinks, so their hateful politics need to be documented....The "Conga Line of Sukkholes' should be on a thread somewhere where DU'ers can enlist them.....
the right's at war with us, so let it be then.....

22. Good.
I've always hated this son of a bitch and I have never, EVER laughed at one thing he's done. A poor, poor man's Phil Hartman.

That show lurched right about ten years ago, and now I wouldn't watch it short of losing a bet.
