how difficult it is to not hate America !
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 06:32 AM by the Kelly Gang
watching the documentary "The World According to Bush"..in some ways this film is better than 'Farenheit 9/11' as it puts into context the neocons behind George Bush who tricked him into waging war on 1000's of innocent Iraqis resulting in their deaths.

And then you see Senator Robert Byrd's speech against the war..and the demos in New York this week and once again have hope.
( I'm aware of his history but at least he ended up seeing the light !)
Everybody should see this film if they can.

( and why is the traitorous Robert Novak still walking the streets ?..why hasn't this man been locked up ?)

2. Hatred
is an illness; hope you get better. Hate for ones country is hate for one's self and fellow citizens. Hate is not a very productive emotion.

Where can we see this movie?

I sure hate G.B*** and his lot !

I reacted after watching some Iraqis being herded out of their house at gunpoint..I mean it must be impossible for these people not to feel hatred towards the Allies ( Australia included)

4. outside looking in
I just watched the same documentary tonight (I assume you were just watching it on SBS TV). It really is an extremely insightful, and very emotional documentary. It's the second time I have watched it actually.

From what happened with Joe Wilson and his wife, through to the reasons why Iraq was invaded. You see just how evil, and corrupt that government is.

But then, as you mentioned, you see Robert Byrd's speech. Someone who was a close personal friend of George Bush Snr, speaking up in such an emotional way against the war, and the government.
Then I get introduced to this website by someone exceptionally important to me, and you realise that there is hope, and that so many people do care.

Likewise, I am an australian, but I don't hate America. I do hate the regime that is in power there, but not the people.

5. I'm American and I don't hate America.
I thank God every day that I was lucky enough to be born American. It really was pure luck. We should all be thankful. And we should use our freedom in productive ways, like voting Bush out of office before he runs this once great nation into the dirt.

6. Novak, Limbaugh, Cipel, Franklin,
Kissinger, Rumsfeld, Asscrock, Lay, and probably Cheney(and his sidekick Scooter) will all continue to fluorish like the green bay tree, out on bond, given presidential pardons, and able to waltz back into ripping us off as they lie us into more national disasters.

There are two Americas, all right, one for ordinary citizens who face life in prison for smoking a joint, and one for rich Repuglicans who skate on crimes up to and including treason, and never have to face up to the consequences of anything they do to the rest of us.

F. Scott Fitzgerald nailed it when he said "the rich are different from you and me. They never have to clean up their own messes*"

*bad paraphrase, probably, Bartlett's is in the other room

9. He wasn't tricked into waging war. He forced the issue.
Why do people want to pretend that Bush is the innocent in all of this? He wasn't Daddy's hatchet man for nothing.
