Anyone see "the Jesus Factor" Frontline episode (Bush's Fundamentalism)
I rewatched it online last night - HORRIYING. My fiancée went to bed early because it sickened and frightened her.

1. Too bad she missed the punchline at the end!
The end was the discussion of the piss-poor theology Bush is following, and that he is counter to everything taught in mainstream churches (and even most fundy churches).

Bush says he's a Methodist, but he never goes to church. His piety is with, by and through other rich men who think faith alone will buy them into heaven, that they are anointed by god throught their wealth and can do no worng.

Frontline was wonderful, exposing Bush without condemning a lot of good people by condemning their religion.

2. That Bible study group he was in (the CBS) was all pale white men
most of whom were using the Bible to escape the desire to drink

4. Or the camel and the needle
I like what the Episcopalian who was commenting on Bush's theology said - he called Bush's faith "Self-Help" Theology

7. Well, I think...
that Jesus said, "It's easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."

6. Women are........................
the "lesser vessel" and are not allowed into the rich white man's temple. Barefoot, pregnant and baking bread, now that's the woman's place in the Fundy household.
