'Hardball' or 'slimeball'?



Count right-wing pundit Michelle Malkin as a dissatisfied "Hardball" customer.

Since her raucous appearance the other night on the MSNBC show - where she didn't get to hawk her provocative book, "In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II and the War on Terror" - Malkin has been on a rampage against "Hardball's" host, Chris Matthews.

On her personal Web site, C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" and Rush Limbaugh's radio show, Malkin has been attacking Matthews as a "sexist" who employs "slimeball tactics" and worse.

Yesterday, Matthews and "Hardball" producers Tammy Haddad and Ann Klenk heatedly rejected Malkin's claim that the 58-year-old host was trying to belittle her when he jokingly asked off camera if she was old enough to appear on "Hardball."

The thirthysomething Malkin told Limbaugh: "He kept badgering me to tell him my age, and I was flabbergasted by such naked chauvinism."

And anyway, what specifically did Matthews do wrong? She makes these amorphous statements that he was a "slimeball" without providing any justifications as to why.

She was taking it upon herself to make a slanderous accusation about another person on Matthews's show. Hell, she wasn't even above board enough to do that much--she just made a sneaky innuendo that not even the anti-Kerry Swift Boat people have had the gall to make. She is used to getting away with that sort of sleaze where she normally appears (FOX), but she stepped out into the real world and onto a media outlet with a little more integrity, so when Matthews heard her making a libel on his show he rightly called her on it. She showed herself for the coward she is by not being able to stand by what she said and tried to twist and turn and not give a forthright answer.

Afterward, she has the nerve to fall back on her gender and pretend some sort of sexism took place. This from the sort of female who, a la Ann Coulter, publically vilifies feminists. There is a slimeball here, alright, but it's not Chris Matthews.

Being married to an Asian woman, the correct term for a woman of Asian descent with her attitude is not a "Princess", but "Asian Goddess"... same idea, though. It usually applies to a woman whose parents came from eastern Asia, but was born in America - like Malkin.
