Tweedy was back to dissing Kerry, though he did let some Kerry supporters talk. Buchanan was on, railing about Viet Nam again. The high point for me came in the second half of the show when Dick Cavett came on. He was thoughtful and witty.

Pat Buchanan has a hard-on for hating Kerry. (I know he's no fan of * either, but he really wants to screw our man)

Matthews as I've always said is not to be trusted or fawned over. Wake up DU... he has the heart of someone that doesn't understand the point of this election. Which is to stop the neo-fascists that are running our country. It's apparently a "game" or a "job" to people like Matthews and I can't stand him for that reason alone.

7. Yes, I Loved It...I Love Dick Cavett...Chris Started Out Whoring...

and I thought, Oh boy! the repugs got to him by threatening not to come on his show, and he's now trying to make up for destroying Malkin, but as it went on, it got better and better. Douglas Brinkley was devastingly effective, Cavett was witty and informative. I just love Dick Cavett and it's a shame he's not on the air now. They also had a Vietnam historian, Stanley Karnow, who told it like it really was in Vietnam.

Chris really dissed Malkin again...saying we had this person, Michelle Malkin "or something," who was on last week. "Or something" says it all. And he challenged Buchanan's version of the dust up with Malkin. She lied on C-SPAN as Bob Somerby points out, about what she said on that show.

Mr. Matthews played part of the new Swift Boat ad, with the quotes from Kerry, in 1971 testifying before Congress, out of context (unclear if Kerry witnessed atrocities, participated therein, or whatever). Then he played the original testimony with context, clearly showing this is what other vets stated and that the new ad's insinuation is another new low. The scumbags should have been called on it, but Matthews doesn't even mention it. I cheered when they played the whole testimony, expecting a subsequent smackdown, but then realized someone got to Matthews.

Too bad. I guess Mr. Somerby will lay the smackdown in tomorrow's edition.
