Michael Edward on the Encore Mobile Home Park -- many deaths
There used to be a big Encore mobile home park for retired people in Punta Gorda, and another large mobile home park on the other side of the street. Now, all you can see is a large garbage heap on both sides of the street. I was there Friday night trying to get to a relative's house a mile down Burnt Store Road, but the road was blocked by fallen trees and power poles that snapped in half.

As I turned the Jeep around, my headlights lit up the most devastating site I have ever seen... hundreds of mobile homes reduced to small pieces of trash. There were no emergency vehicles there yet and perhaps we were the first to stumble on this site hours after the eye of Charley had passed over that location.

My friend and I commented to each other how everyone must have gotten out since there was no sign of life anywhere. As we walked down the main entrance driveway, we realized how wrong we were. There were bodies under all that rubble and bodies in crushed cars. The silence was broken when we heard a faint voice off in the distance calling for help, but there was nothing we could do as there was no way to get through the rubble.

It doesn't matter what FEMA or the media may report about the two mobile home parks that were completely destroyed on that road. The truth is, there are hundreds of dead there and it will be weeks before they will be able to recover all the bodies.

-snip-

This guy just keeps either telling the truth or is the most morbid of tale-spinners! Also says National Guard mostly guarding the rich neighborhoods on another post!

1. I HOPE he's taking pictures!
Pictures and video cannot be disputed. Do we know if he's recording any of this for the record?

4. He said he was and has posted some none-body pics on Rumour Mill
Says lots of alternative media have contacted him and he will work with them, not the other media that have called. He says he's holding the body photos until the near-future...

He's a former military/law enforcement, so I assume he can defend himself...

Ask him yourself. His e-mail through the site:

9. This has bothered me more than............
most things for some reason. Those poor old folks. No one is even bothering to see if they're dead or alive?!

I think to myself, "how could this be? Just how could this be?" Then I think, "oh yeah. It's the bushes". I put NOTHING past them. Nothing!

14. Why no photos yet.
I have been contacted, through email, by various mainstream newspapers and other controlled radio media asking for interviews and copyright permission to publish my posts. My answer to them is if they couldn't report the truth before, then I doubt they will report the truth now. More so, I am not about to let any of them increase their profits via the larger readership they will receive from these updates or eyewitness reports. As for the alternative media groups who have contacted me, I will try to get back with you as soon as I am able.

Regarding the repeated email requests that we post pictures of the fatalities: The pictures we have will not be posted or published anywhere for the near future. We all voted and it was unanimous that these pictures be kept safe and eventually be used to expose the mounting untruths that are unfolding from this disaster. Besides that, we feel there is enough death surrounding us at the moment; enough horror has already been seen and experienced. If we post any of those kinds of pictures, others will use them for their own purposes, for personal fame, or for political gain.

- Michael Edward, eyewitness

2. I don't see the motivation for a coverup

Consider me among the skeptical.

5. Motive?
The best one I've heard is the Jeb Bush was told to evacuate a huge swath of western Florida, but didn't, because he ordered a big evacuation a few years ago that turned out to be unnecessary and caught a lot of flak for it.

So this time he evacuated a much smaller area, but the hurricane turned suddenly into an area that hadn't been evacuated.

19. But Punta Gorda mobile homes were evacuated
The mobile homes in Punta Gorda were under an evacuation order (Punta Gorda is in Charlotte county which ordered evacuations of mobile homes on Thursday). Why would there be a political reason to cover up deaths that occurred when people ignored evacuation orders?

21. Jeb did not order a MANDATORY evacuation on THursday, even
though the Weather Service said the whole coast had warnings. He had gotten complaints from an earlier evac that didn't pan out.

So being a Bush, he took the easy way out.

Plus having several hundred dead on your watch is not a peachy-keen way to go into the convention week if your bro is Prez.

22. Charlotte County ordered a mandatory evacuation
http://www.nbc-2.com/articles/readarticle.asp?articleid=1256&z=3&p=

"Charlotte County has ordered mandatory evacuations of Gasparilla Island, all barrier islands, RV parks and residents living in mobile homes."

As someone who was evacuated, I thought the various counties did a pretty good job of identifying who to evacuate.

3. Is there anyone else there who can get the truth?
It's despicable that we can't feel we believe the news anymore.

The day of this storm, my husband came home from work and asked if they had pictures on tv of the trailer park. I said yes, but all you saw was a bunch of match sticks. He said on the radio on his way to work that morning, they said there were bodies everywhere. When he saw the news, he said "I don't understand!"

Is there anyone on DU that can confirm or deny these stories?

But I won't because you wouldn't believe me anyway. It's because of my own personal experiences and things I've seen with my own eyes that this story jumps out at me. Don't bother asking. I quit talking along time ago. :) booga booga :) :)

20. Horseshit. Shameless Exploitation of a tragedy.
This crap is beyond indecent.

Just use some Common Sense.

Every municipality has a police and fire dept that was out during and after the storm. These people surely know if there are vastly more deaths than officially reported. And talk about it.

Every person (even residents of trailer parks) has a network of family and friends. If hundreds of people are missing, there are thousands of distraught relatives searching the woods and pestering officials.

Every death sets in motion a whole train of legalities and paperwork. Hundreds of dead just can't be covered up.

23. Do your homework. It's not being covered up very well.
There's this eyewitness report and several others on posts about stacks of bodies and bodies littering the streets and floating in the water.

Fox News, The Sunday Mirror, The Daily Telegraph (australia) all reported this and the Miami Herald has published a list of 175 missing that haven't checked in after a week. Fox News in particular talked about 100 to 150 DOAs.

Now you tell me how you mistake 150 DOA Hurricane victims for 4 Hurrican victims or for anything else for that matter.

We'll know for sure when Michael Edward and his 5 friends release all the photographs they took of the dead bodies in "the near-future".

You still seem to think we have a free press!

That is really insane, you should see a doctor about that.

Look up Goebbels and the National Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda in the encyclopedia to see the true parallel to what has happened to our former free press.

24. BTW, Michael Edward and his 5 partners are all retired law officers or
military.

So the cops are complaining AND the National Guard just up and tells him where the bodies are in the ice trucks.

It's Bill Hemmer and Shepard Smith and all the other reporters there who are not allowed to go anywhere sensitive and they just read the Bush press releases

Come on! These coverups are all the Bushies do all day long!

29. I just posted a list of the missing
Look above. There are thousands of people looking for their loved ones. Alot of these people were retired and not living in the same state with relatives. Also from what i can tell the national guard and the police are still blocking people from going into the hardest hitting areas. For all we know they're still blocked off.
