More proof that Rummy and Co. are out of touch
My son, a Marine, got home at midnight last night. Back from Iraq for a very brief leave. And guess who he's reading? Michael Moore...bought "Stupid White Men" at the airport Rummy and Co. just don't get it. These young men and women are wired in. They have laptops and cell phones. An Army sargeant sat next to me recently on a flight to Chicago. He had a brief leave, also. He'd been in Baghdad. And he couldn't wait to see F-911 with his girlfriend.
Don't consider the military vote lost. Bush may get more military votes than Kerry, yet less than expected. These young troops aren't the brainwashed, drank the Kool-Aid kids too many believe they are. Let's not write them off.

1. They are slowing weaning themselves from the cool aid and turning
to Truth and Reality.

2. Kerry will get more military
votes than expected. My hubby is 100% disabled and we spend 2-4 days a week at either the VA hospital or Navy base. Last election there were lots of pro Bush Bumper stickers on the cars at the VA and too many to count after 9/11. Last week we decided to count. There was 1 Dean and 1Bush and 1Kerry. When waiting at the VA (where the TV's are set to CNN) lots of complaining about Bush and how he treats vets and about his getting out of Nam via National Guard. Some were even mad because of the attacks on Kerry's record!

On the Navy base lots of anti Bush stuff. "Liar" "easy to send others to die when the rich can sit back and get rich on oil" "stupid war" "I have a friend over there and he says it is terrible no idea who is friend or foe" "undersupplied" etc I have even seen people flip bush the bird when his face is shown on the TV.

The military is very much 'in play' when it comes to how they will vote.

3. The writing on the shithouse walls
The Writing on the Latrine Walls

By William Rivers Pitt

http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/080904A.shtml

The Reuters photographer I spoke to couldn't get any soldiers to talk
about how they felt when surrounded by their fellow soldiers. "They don't talk in the ranks, or just about anywhere on base," he said. "You have to go out to the latrine area, to the Port-O-Potties. For some reason, they talk there. You can read how they really feel - all the anti-Bush stuff, all the wanting to go home - in the writing on the shithouse walls."
