What does the Republican Party signify now?
For me, it stands for the following.

A war of aggression, of conquest. Conceived and promoted by a cabal of propagandists advocating empire. It didn't have to be this way, but this is the course that they have chosen. Chosen by the administration's leaders. The party, and the faithful, have signed onto this plan enthusiastically. As long as they don't have to go fight in it.

Flipping the bird to the rest of the world, including our old allies. It didn't have to be this way, but again, this is the course that they have chosen. The party, and the faithful, have signed on with enthusiasm. Where can I get my freedom fries?

Indeed, flipping the bird to the rest of the country, that does not subscribe to their plan. We should "watch what we say, watch what we do" as if we are in Anne Frank's attic prison. It didn't have to be this way, but this is the path that was chosen.

Torturing secret prisoners in secret prisons, near drowning, rape, sodomy. Memos looking into how best to do this, how to justify this, from the highest levels. The party, and its faithful, have signed onto this, to their everlasting disgrace, and the disgrace of our country through history. If we didn't do it to them they'd do it to us!

I'm for almost anything that's not this program. I want us to work with other countries and care what they think even if we are the most powerful. What the hell is wrong with that? What the hell is wrong with saying, we will not tolerate torturing of humans under any circumstances, for any reason? What is wrong with saying part of the promise of America, and the freedom it USED to represent, is that dictators cannot hold prisoners in secret prisons without charges, to hold forever, to "disappear" them and dispose of them hidden from the light of day?

I would hope it's high time for a lot of Republicans to reject what their party has become in these 4 short years too. Isn't it a simple matter, to reject these things?

We could also add white males, stay at home moms, southerners, etc., but that would be people who support the GOP, not the people the GOP represents.

4. The GOP is absolutely suicidal to follow Bush over this cliff.

But I'm not gonna complain!

Right now to be a GOPer means you support lying, torture, murder, conquest and massive red ink.
