RAPTURE ALERT - index is up 1point
For anyone who cares. I can't let this go - it's just too good. And someone spent a lot of time putting this together.

23. Gog (Russia) (The Gogs are coming! The Gogs are coming!)

(I especially like the Beast stuff)

32. Mark of the Beast (5 points) The push to replace bar codes product labels with radio tags has upgraded this category. (Huh?)

33. Beast Government: (5 points) EU leaders agree on a new draft constitution.

34. The Antichrist: (3 points) The EU is looking for a new
president.

The Rapture Index is currently 150 - FASTEN YOU SEAT BELTS. AND MAKE SURE YOUR UNDERWEAR IS CLEAN.

5. Yea, where did that 666 stuff come from, anyway?
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 02:56 PM by MaryH
Why not 999?

I think 999 looks way more evil than 666.

18. 999 is the emergency services number
in the UK. So 999 doesn't look evil to me, it looks like "HELP!"

22. Well, OK Maybe not 999
but how about 777 - that's a really ugly number.

23. I've heard many seemingly reasonable explanations...
but, I still think it's a Apostics R' Us marketing scheme...

4. I don't understand your question?
But "you could say the Rapture index is a Dow Jones Industrial Average of end-time activity, but I think it would be better if you viewed it as prophetic speedometer. The higher the number, the faster we're moving towards the occurrence of pre-tribulation rapture."

Rapture Index of 85 and Below: Slow prophetic activity

Rapture Index of 85 to 110: Moderate prophetic activity

Rapture Index of 110 to 145: Heavy prophetic activity

Rapture Index above 145: Fasten your seat belts (which makes no sense. If you want to get raptured why would you fasten your seat belt?)

I think the Hurrican in Florida upped the Rature Index (it's under "wild weather." So are floods. Floods and famine seem to be a big favorite points wise.

21. For some reason, "Rapture Ready" made me think of "Ruff and Ready"...
That cartoon show from the 1950s:

I haven't thought of this cartoon in years!

I know this post has very little to do with the thread subject, but thanks for the trip down memory lane!

7. These people worry a lot about the Rapture - Really.
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 03:26 PM by MaryH
Like what do you wear? Now, think about that. That would be a problem.

Or do you Raptured Up naked? I wouldn't like that. I'm too modest.

Do you need to pack a lunch? Or is food provided?

Does it cost money to go thru the gate?

And what do you do when you get there? Do you just sit up there and look down and watch everyone get thier comeupance?

When does the Beast show up?

Will people be able to take picture on their digital cameras and send them back to relatives that have been Left Behind?
That would be good.

19. I'm a liberal christian, and find rapturists bonkers...
the religious right fixate TOO much on unimportant things.
The ones who glom onto the rapture are IMHO getting a jones on about it because it appeals to their need to be "special", and for other people who aren't "THEM" to burn.

If they were truly concerned about the end times, they'd be working overtime to SAVE others, not to disinclude others.

I would like to be there on that day when they realize their priorities were a bit skewed.

I don't presume to know if my walk with God will result in a trip to heaven, but if I messed up, I just pray I get to see certain self-righteous meglomaniacs get their TRUE reward...

Like Pat Robertson. :)

6. With any luck, the Rapture will happen very soon.
The sooner we can rapture out these people, the better the rest of us will be.

10. Yea
I'm not sure what to make of that. Does that mean Rapture is getting further away?

And I can't figure out what Rapture is exactly. Do your molecules just reform? And I'm not going anywhere without my dogs. But I think there are probably a lot more dogs in heaven than there are people.

God likes dogs.

9. That site is a hoot!
This is my favorite line from the site, on a page titled, "Would Jesus vote Republican?"

"Vote Republican and Vote Often"

At least they're being up front about encouraging voter fraud.

11. Yea, that is probably for Florida
Probably after the Rapture, all the Floridans will still be there.

Probably all the politicians will all be there, too.

And all the preachers who lied to everyone about the whole thing.

14. It's the ones who yell
"Praise the Lord" and "Praise Jesus" all of the time that may find themselves in trouble.

I don't think God would want all that noise up there.

16. I vaguely remember walking through a room where a Left Behind movie was
showing, and seeing a minister in an empty church where the congregation had raptured admitting to God that he had been lying the whole time he had been preaching.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
