A Third world nation has the system and we don't.

2. From what I remember
they did have a paper trail. But I've been trying to get a link on this, too. This is from what I remember from other threads on DU. Which I now can't find.

Help anyone?

4. yes - a paper copy of vote was reviewed by voter and deposited in ballot
box.

They also had a country wide data bank of all registered voters on a central computer, and each polling booth had a thumb imprint image taker (the gizmo doing the same job as it does for gun carry permits in the US these days) which fed each thumb imprint to the central data base to compare to all other thumb imprints that had voted that day - thus duplicate voting was avoided!)

Seems we could have this system - if the GOP had not not wanted a system they could use to screw us with.

5. Thanks all.
The guys at the 7-11 at 4:00 this morning thought I was crazy when I jumped up and down when I heard Chavez won.

6. I wonder if you were at one of the 7-11s owned by...
...pdvsa, which is owned by Venezuela.

7. At the first hint of complaint
...and some of the opposition have claimed fraud, Chavez should loudly praise the Florida voting machines and put a plug in for the paper trail if they do want to check.

No reporting on these words will appear in US media markets however.
