Up here in Canada, you really get the impression that Kerry is going to take the election. But is that just an outsiders viewpoint? What is the feeling down in the states?

1. We can not get complacent and we must not get too high of expectations
Its all an expectations game. We saw this with the Bush-Gore debates in 2000. So steady the course, nose to the grindstone, fullsteam ahead.

2. I really hope so, but
there are so many things that can happen between now and the election

I believe the people in this country are not particularly smart, and if bush came up with a bin laden capture, I don't think Kerry would stand a chance...

3. It seems like a lot of people are pissed at Bush.
But, I have learned not to underestimate the power of stupidity.

4. Things are looking good at the moment,
but there is absolutely no room for letting up.

We have the convention coming up, possible October surprise, as well as the threat of another attack to live through.

I will not rest until I see Kerry placing his hand of that Bible and taking the oath of office.

Just my 2 cents worth.

6. I think it's too close to call right now
A lot can happen between now and November. I still think this thing could go either way. We really need to work hard for Kerry and not get lulled into sitting back and taking it easy.

7. Remember Georgia 2002.............
Max Cleland and the guy running for governor were way ahead right before the election, but both lost. It was the first time Georgia was using those nice voting computers. Votes for Dems mysteriously disappeared into the black boxes. Kerry may have the votes to win, but they just may steal this one anyway.

8. Gore was supposed to win in 2000.

VP from eight years of economic growth. Had the issues, Bush was not a strong candidate. When the conservatives have the weapons they have we can never count our chickens.

9. Not if Kerry ignores those damn swiftvets ads
If he doesn't run some counter-ads soon and beat this back, he can expect wall-to-wall swiftvet ads in every toss-up state. You read it here first. I think Rove smells vulnerability here. Or at least he THINKS he does.

11. We are feeling pain this week. We have no media..Media
has been controlling everything here since Bush stole Florida.
No counterspin..We are all screaming, protesting and depressed and when 7 continents march against a war and not get any media attention worth mentioning and they spin webs of deceit into believable stuff to ignorant masses, then it is a very up in the air thing. If we don't get control of the media and the voting machines real soon..We are stuck. That is my own opinion but I do't think I am wrong . I don't know what to think. We have more activisim, more unified party, the message is out there and no one is hearing it or paying attention because the Media owned by big corporations are spinning and lying. Think about it....All of the millions who marched before we invaded and it barely got 5 minutes coverage. Sad !We can win..We can..But we got to get really mad and really want it bad and I do and I know alot of people....half the country do but what are they willing to do to obtain it? They have to be heard ! The other factor is Nader and he is one in Florida. People are so stupid to think his 2 percent matters. It does..It matters to help lose America. It is 48..48 Florida and 4 percent Nader. There is a deciding Bush win if I ever saw one!

10. It is really too close to call right now.
It is Kerry who can slip up and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Bush's numbers are at his base right now. His numbers will not drop more than a point or two. He will pull what he is at now regardless of what happens between now and November. These people would vote Republican even if an anchovie pizza was the candidate.
Kerry right now has his base support, plus some undecideds (people who are in the Kerry camp but could still break the other way), and some swing voters. If he plays his cards right, these people stay in his camp and he wins. If he stumbles or gets complacent, these people break to Bush or Nader and he loses. Don't forget, there will probably be a bump for Bush after the convention. The people who are responsible for the bump, those are who we want. The ones who get swayed on a weekly or daily basis. The last one of Bush or Kerry to get to them will have them.

This post is not based on anything scientific, or on any studies or polls I have seen. Just expressing my own views and observations. It may not make sense to anyone but me (and the constant voices in my head).

13. It depends on Kerry...
Kerry promised us he'd play hardball with bush* if he pulled this Vietnam crap, but so far there has been no response to this at all. I don't understand why Kerry is letting a draft dodger attack him for his heroic service, but if he doesn't start fighting back hard, we will lose. I thought we had all this money, why can't we fight back!

14. Kerry has an edge
atleast as far as the polls are concerned.

However, they could pull out Osama and the people could love him again. Never understimate the stupidity of Americans...
