Anybody remember That God awful LAMAR ALEXANDER and his red flannel shirts
I have never seen such a silly a** politician in my life.... being from Tennessee, I will tell you that he was always made fun of and he was another MISERABLE FAILURE.. They like to act like he brought so many jobs to TN just because of the automobile plant that came here.....He and that damned flannel shirt and that famous walk across TN....

1. I remember it and I have to ask - Have you visited the TN state forum?
This might be better posted in there.

6. We live near Memphis and I remember the commercials that were played
non-stop.

We laughed our asses off and we were glad that people in our state wouldn't be voting for him.

4. I wouldn't call Alexander a miserable failure
when he governed Tennessee way back in the 1980's. Alexander's Tennessee record was miles better than *'s Texas record.

* is way more a miserable failure than Alexander. Alexander's gubernatorial record looks more liberal for a Repuke.

Even though I consider myself a Democrat, but the credit goes to Alexander for having the courage to lure Nissan to open their first car factory in Smyrna thus opening the floodgate to Japanese investment that allowed for a lot of job creation in the Southeast during the 1980's.

But right now Alexander kissing *'s ass nowadays disgusts me to an extent. If Alexander hadn't dropped out during the 1999 Iowa straw poll, there could have been a chance for an all-Tennessee Presidential race between Alexander and Gore way back in 2000, but alas, Rove and Co. just totally beat Alexander back.

5. Oh, I remember Lamar.
He seemed like just another mediocre Republican riding the Reagan coattails, to me. Tennesse's version of Ohio's Bob Taft, in some ways. He was trying to come off like some kind of 'tweener. Probably a moderate Republican, back before they lobotomized all such.

10. I liked the way he ended his rallies
by playing the piano. I think that should be mandatory for every political rally. Bush could play and sing along with the twins. Now that's a rally.
