The latest casualties came as U.S. forces wilted in blistering sun; temperatures hit 115 degrees in Baghdad yesterday.


In the most brazen killing, an Iraqi gunman walked up to a soldier outside Baghdad University's cafeteria yesterday, exchanged greetings with him and then shot him in the head, witnesses said.


The two other slayings came in separate ambushes of military convoys in the Iraqi capital, the military said early today.

Rove's demand to only count "enemy fire" deaths post pretend war hero moment is all agreed to by US Media.

For the record we are now at about 70 dead by wartime causes post the Bush victory lap. But 40 do not count. And God forbid Bush be caught in a photo near a coffin coming off a plane - or near a widow - from 911 or any of his "bring it on" mistakes.

killed since 1 May. Sooner or later this has to get out to the public, I see it in the morning when I turn on the computer. I don't watch cable news so I don't know if it's getting out, but it's awfully hard to ignore deaths in clusters.
