1. This is subtle, yet blatently over-the-top emotional manipulation material
that Rove & Co are so skilled at. Perhaps it's a pipe dream, but I'm hoping enough other people will resist the attempts at being manipulated.

2. Wow, like Sophie's choice. But still, there is an upside to such choices
I can imagine a parent who discusses this sort of traumatic choice with his or her children would then later have a whole lot of leverage with their kids when it comes to making them eat their vegetables. "Timmy, if you can't finish your carrots, I may have to pick your sister up first next time the terrorists attack..."

Spock I ain't

3. I can't believe people support this man
How can people with an average IQ even stand to listen to that sadist.

I'm reading 'Bush on the Couch' by Justin Frank, MD. Insightful and frightening.

Much like The Bush Dyslexicon by Glover what bush says reveals who and what he is.

19. Thank you for this
Some friends I know wouldn't be interested in reading an entire book of bush's personality disorders, so this link is great.

6. It started running here in Illinois a couple of days ago
Hubby saw it tonight and said, "Huh????" (He usually doesn't comment like that so I couldn't help but laugh). He said that it makes no sense and I just told him Bush had to get his 9/11 into the commercial.

7. Gosh, it makes more sense to do this................
in an ad attacking your opponent than one promoting yourself as someone great. How very bizarre.............

imagine all too well and don't want anymore specifics..

But I would think this would be another one of their grand schemes that BACKFIRES!

No ..they're not running on the Fear Factor!

12. If he's as bad a parent as he is a President,
those kids would be better off without him. And you know very well that he has no imagination. Intellectually uncurious George....

11. I don't think that's going to sit too well w/ swing voters.
A choice like this would repulse and turn the stomach of ANY parent.

THAT's the good news!! Kerry's going to pick up a lot of votes of the people who see this ad!!!

17. So what he's saying is...
which child shall I allow to perish in the attack.

This ad will die a quick death, just like the one that used shots of the burning towers and the dead fireman for political gain.

18. Well, George... All the kids are dead
Because you sat around on your ass for 10 minutes after hearing they were in danger from the attacks.

I've used this scenario on republicans before who somehow can excuse Bush for sitting around. "Hey, Joe Freeper! Your kid just got hit by a car in the street! Let's wait 10 minutes before we do anything about it though." Shuts them the hell up.

22. On September 11th
I was working at a public school in Northern Virginia, not far from Dulles airport. We didn't know what the heck was going on, and there were many false reports that the FAA building not far away was bombed, that there were more planes in the air, etc. It was incredibly stressful. Many, many parents came to pick their kids up early. The streets were like a ghost town in the afternoon.

When I got home, and my kids got off their buses (they went to three different schools) my youngest asked, "Mommy, other parents picked up their kids. Why didn't you pick us up?" I responded, "Because while I was at my school taking care of other people's kids, I knew that your teachers were doing a great job of taking care of you." Totally counter to the current fear tactics of the other side.

It disgusts me that they're using - exploiting - 9/11 in this way.
