It's up to us to protect ourselves from this death of the heart, even if we can't do anything to protect our bodies.

5. I would venture to say that *most* here on DU find those alerts

rather pathetic -- certainly not "scary". DU Ducttape? Doan think so.

How to get the rest of the country to come to its collective senses is a whole other box cutter.

However, as far as fear goes..... there are some REAL reasons why some are in fear. Iraqis, certainly, have much to fear. How they are going from day to day is beyond me. Especially, now, those in Najef. Those on the verge of being sent to Iraq from the US, whether they admit it or not, have some sense of fear. And those of us who are facing cuts to our very survival have much to fear.... especialy since it's not an issue most want to hear about.

There's concocted fear, and there's the real thing.
