for the past fifty odd years.The Palestinian children who led the Intifada have known this treatment for many years.We are just now beginning to be exposed to this torture of children in the wake of the Abu Ghraib scandals.

Not that it's not disturbing.

Bottom line is, none of this is going to get the kind of attention and indignation it deserves as long as the-powers-that-be keep sitting on the evidence. And we were told, once upon a time, that there is a mountain of evidence we still haven't seen. Remember? Back before that conveniently timed beheading allowed the media and everyone to drop Abu Ghraib like a hot rock? I seem to remember senators and congressmen being shocked by photos and videos that had not been released yet, and the public being told "much, much worse evidence is on the way.." Certain Republicans were arguing for total release of all the evidence at once, because they were sure it would be worse for the Administration if it came out slowly.

Hmmm. A couple distractions later and it's.. what evidence?
