Democrats grow bolder in criticism of Bush on Iraq
Democrats, notably quiet during combat to oust Saddam Hussein from Iraq, are growing increasingly bold in challenging the administration's justification for the war and its long-term plans for Iraq. Republicans say Democrats are playing politics, trying to make some headway in the upcoming 2004 election.

1. Yeah
But maybe now they claim that they "were lied" to and look less partisan because they gave Bush the "benefit of the doubt" back last fall.

The "Iraq War" was covered every minute of every hour of every day. Sen.Byrd was covered on cnn and fox no more than a handful of times. Sen.Byrd has been blasting the Repukes on C-Span...the average person does not watch c-Span. Sen.Feingold has also been blasting the pResident and the GOP on foreign policy and security with some regularity on C-Span(on the Senate floor...and again I say, the average person does not watch C-Span.

On edit: I saw Sen.Feingold do this a couple of times and it looked like he had an "oh wait, I have to go kick the dog"-smirk on his face.

Did you happen to catch him? I bet the speech will be on his website soon. Here it is in case you don't happen to have it:

7. Hey Colin? It's not just the words in the SOTU.
Secretary of State Colin Powell said on CNN's "Larry King Live" Thursday, "too much is being made" of the claim made in the State of the Union address.

"Whether it should or should not have been in the speech is something we can certainly discuss and debate," Powell said from South Africa. "But it wasn't a deliberate attempt on the part of the president to either mislead or exaggerate. That's just ridiculous."

This was the SALES PITCH for war, Colin. The big threat - the mushroom cloud - 9/11 and al Qaeda...People died and are still dying because of the "words" in the "speech."

Wasn't deliberate? The CIA thinks differently.

I am so disgusted with ALL these thugs.

8. You'd think they'd use their BEST and most CONVINCING evidence
in the SOTU, wouldn't you? They keep trying to act like it's no big deal that the Niger thing didn't pan out, cause there was all this other important evidence. Well...then how come they had to use the bogus evidence at all?

They just keep hiding their incompetence (or lies) behind, "It's classified. If you were smart enough to understand, we'd tell you."

9. Actually, God...
the Dems have been quiet since the Republicans stole the Florida vote. If there was ever a time for them to come out fighting for the Constitution, it was then. So many people were disenfranchised and yet the Dems had an attitude of "OK, well, we'll let it go THIS time, just don't let it happen again." It was at this point that the die was cast and the current bunch (with a few notable exceptions, like Byrd) of Democratic incumbents should be ousted from their comfortable, don't rock the boat jobs. They are not working for us, they are working for themselves and the family members that they are able to get cushy jobs for.

And, no, they are not growing balls...they just had to reach up under their armpits to find them. :)

10. what else can they say
"Republicans say Democrats are playing politics, trying to make some headway in the upcoming 2004 election."

Whenever this line is used by either party you know your party is in trouble. If your only defense is to say a certain party is playing politics, your in deep shit and you know it.
