Is the Election More Important to Repukes Than Destroying al Queda?
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 07:17 PM by louis c
Here's my reasoning. The Las Vegas situation two years was similar to the most recent alert, yet there were no hysterical warnings. In fact, Home Land Security and the Bush Administration didn't even inform the Mayor or the locals. I submit that this was done properly, but there was no election at stake.

This time, the British and Pakistani intelligence spokesmen have criticized the Bush Administration for compromising the ongoing investigation by going public. The Repukes, in order to justify the most recent alerts cost these foreign allies to lose the opportunity to catch more and dangerous terrorists after they turned the arrested suspect, Kahn.

My question to you is this. Would the Bush Administration choose to remain silent and carry on a secret investigation that would break the al Queda network if they knew that the actual break in the case would come after the election, thereby making the efforts useless to Bush's Re-Election, but making our country safer in the end?

or

Would the Bush Administration make public any information that tended to improve Bush's poll numbers but prematurely expose an ongoing investigation, thereby destroying any hope of breaking the al Queda network in the near future?

You probably know how I feel, and maybe the question is mostly rhetorical, but it is a good case to make to the other side.

2. Didn't Paul O'Neil say that everything this administration does
is based on politics?

I can't believe that they would have outed an alQueda mole to save their sorry asses and maintain their political power. But they did.

Assholes.

3. Does a bear, etc., etc.
Of course. These people want power, not leadership positions. They are corrupt to the core and don't care how many blue-staters have to die for their cause.

5. Winning the election is the most important thing in the world

to them.

BTW, what makes you think they want to destroy al Queda???

Do you have any evidence that suggests that they want it destroyed?

8. ding ding ding!!!
You got it! It is simply not in this administration's interest to destroy Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda needs the Bushies and the Bushies need Al Quaeda. Everything "Al Qaeda" does (or threatens to do) helps Bush, and everything Bush does helps Al Qaeda. Isn't that nice how that works?

The most recent outing of the AQ operative is just further evidence that Bush is actively trying to provoke an attack before the election in the vain hope that it might save his political career... it's just about the scariest and most evil goddamn thing I've ever seen.

10. It does seem
like "1984" every time I turn around.

Cowards are heroes, heroes are cowards, clean air act pollutes, healthy forest act cuts down trees, peace is war, war is peace, enemies are allies, allies are enemies, democracies are not free because they disagree Monarchies and dictators are our allies for freedom, and on and on and on it goes.

11. Uhh, yes.
Is the election more important to Republicans than destroying the Republican party? Are they more interested in stealing this election than they are in breaking up the influence of big energy corporations? Is Georgie more focused on his campaign than on shooting himself in the head?

In case you're not getting the point, I'm of the opinion that Bush Admin = Al Queda.
