Condi: "I'm just trying to get through the next few weeks."
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 12:41 AM by barbaraann
She said this to Tim Russert after an incredible amount of frantic spinning and lying. The thought that popped into my mind was that she knows something big is going to happen in a few weeks that will relieve her stress.

Does anyone have a less paranoid explanation?

On edit: She also said that 9-11 was one of the worst tragedies that ever happened to our country. She must have forgotten slavery, the Civil War, the suffering of hundreds of Native American tribes, the Galveston hurricane, the San Francisco earthquake, numerous international wars, etc. etc. etc. What a total whore.

2. The convention is going to take place in a "few" weeks...
Maybe the remark was in regard to the week-long recess from all the CYA press junkets. ;)

3. I would imagine that for her,
the lead-up to the convention is hellish. Lots of requests for info for soundbites, quotes, spin-work.

I was going to say research into pre-debate material, but do Repugs really need that? Why work on digging out the truth when making something up seems to do just as well.

4. AIDS.
She's a horrible person. She squeaks instead of talks. One day all her springs and gears will all pop out at the same time. She's the tin woman

5. The elections are in a 'few' weeks...
...that will hopefully lift a large burden from her shoulders. After that, she can start looking for a new job.

6. No but I have a more paranoid explanation

Suppose that instead of the bottom of the RNC ticket being
replaced, the PNAC/Vulcans have a plot to replace the TOP
of the ticket.

Say with a terrorist attack at the RNC.

Dickie boy and the cabinet will be at undisclosed locations.

Cheney/XXX gets a big sympathy vote uptick. New "patriot act"
provisions implemented. Terrorists will have ties to Bin Laden
and to Iran.

8. Hey, you don't know how hard it is
to keep W propped up, to make all those campaign appearance, between now and the convention. Then there's the big speech that she's got to get him ready for. She hardly has time to get her makeup on everyday, no less bother with national security.

9. The stress has been showing, lately
she's scared. This last week, her 'hus...", I mean boss, said his administration is thinking of new ways to harm the U.S. She's worried sick about her guy. And she should be. Plus, she gets rattled easily and has to start repeating herself to get through press conferences. That's when she stumbles and makes Freudian slips like the "hus.." statement and the "I'm just trying to get through..." comment. The Bushies are listing badly right now. They're foundering. The anti-Kerry hatefest isn't going nearly as well as Uncle KKKarl said it would. Their brownshirt operatives are being too hamfisted at Kerry rallies and their heavily funded professional vets have been tarnishing all vets with their continual erractic fire of accusations and innuendo followed by recantations and retractions. The flop sweat you smell is desperation.

10. Perhaps by "I'm just trying to get through the next few weeks" she meant
that the thought of getting through the next three months before defeat Nov. 2 is unbearable, so she's just trying to keep her sanity one week at a time before the axe inevitably falls on her head. That of course it impossible, because one must be sane to begin with in order to "keep it". Poor creepazoid.
