Heads up 10 mins to Real time w/ Bill Maher
This week, Bill's guests include comedian Steve Harvey, Rep. Kay Granger, former Rep. Bob Barr and reporter Cokie Roberts.

As the Campaign of 2004 heats up, Bill Maher and his guests examine the minds and motives of George Bush and John Kerry.

2. What a lame lineup.
So help me God, if Maher panders to them I'm shutting him off. After last weeks brilliance, it would be too much of a disappointment.

4. I know, but
He will be nice. Last season it seemed one week he went off on them like crazy, then the next week he was easy on them.

Why else would the high profile idiots agree to come on? If they are gonna get the shiite kicked out of them every week.

see it getting real exciting with Cokie Roberts or Boob Barr on the panel.

51. The REST of the story about corn
is actually twofold:

1. GMO corn, which is in everything (well, a lot of things).

2. All corn has a high glycemic index, which means it drives up your blood sugar and insulin response as well. This causes an energy crash later, and ultimately cravings for the wrong foods. I always discounted that "sugar high/crash" business until I went on the South Beach diet (with its emphasis on low glycemic index foods) and had absolutely no cravings from Day 1 of the diet. Now I can observe it working firsthand when I eat too much high glycemic index foods (certain vegetables like potatoes, corn, green peas, all grains and grain products, all sugar and added sugar products, and all fruit).

There's more to what he was saying about feeding corn to cattle as well (as opposed to grass-fed beef). The grassfed beef has less fat in general and more of the "good fats."

So, basically, when Maher talked about corn being responsible for making us a nation of obese people, he was absolutely 100% correct. I wouldn't pass it off to JUST corn (and corn syrup), but corn is a big piece of it.

speaking to corporate groups. I think somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 - 30,000 per speech. I was thinking that even if the people are not directly connected to a particular corporation they may have their eyes on a future engagement with the company and tailor their remarks to present and potential engagements.
