I love watching Bush disintergrate, BUT...
this is the man with his hand on the red phone and his finger on the button! Let's not forget the frightening power that this moron has over us and the rest of the world. Let's not forget that North Korea is sitting out there watching this sad display of "American strength and leadership". Let's not forget that we have to endure this for another 2+ months and then, if he loses, another 2 months. Alot can happen in that time....

This man looks so crippled, so moronic, so scared, so desperate, so without a thought of his own, that I pray, and I am praying today, there there are a few people left in his administration who will have the patriotism and the good sense and the survival instincts to gently take the red phone away from him and remove his hand from the button. Let's hope and pray that there is a shred of decency left in this administration because we have a long way to go folks!

5. That's not reassuring.
I'm sure you're right, but Cheney's finger on the button still isn't my idea of "good."

8. Wouldn't surprise me
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 03:44 PM by JohnyCanuck

Seeing as how the Big Dick was the one running the show on 9/11. Can't say I am that much more reassured knowing that it would be the Big Dick's finger on the nuclear button instead of Dimson's.

11. About a year ago (?) Cheney said something about having the football
I remember that it struck several people here that the POTUS should have the football not the VP. Of course the last hearing of the 9/11 commission made it very clear that Cheney was calling the military shots for a WHILE and that after W finally left the classroom the only thing he talked about -with the staff who was there- was "his message" how they were going to spin/take advantage of the horrible failure.

If any of the stories about his mental deterioration are believeable (and the are), his nuclear football in non-functional.

9. This is what I'm afraid of, too.
Why can't they handle this like in the working world? As soon as you're let go (Nov. 3rd, in this case), make them pack up their belongings and get out?

There's a lot of damage that can be done by a disgruntled employee and something tells me this employee is not going to go quietly.

16. He's always called to mind Greg Stillson
Of "The Dead Zone". I can just imagine him dancing around in a hard-hat during a campaign, then pushing the button out of sheer malevolence and insanity.

17. I fully EXPECT a manufactured 'event.'
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 04:12 PM by TahitiNut
I have no doubt about it. What's frightening is their "chutzpah strategy." Their lies are so outrageous that people can't really believe anyone could lie like that and get away with it - and they gain a certain false credibility merely because the alternative is so difficult to accept. Same with 9/11 and Iraq - they go over the edge. Their motto seems to be "In for a penny; in for a pound."

Thus, as even their 'base' is beginning to feel discomfort with their credibility, I foresee chutzpah on steroids - something big, perhaps more than just one.

18. that worries me too
I am cautiously optimistic about our chances of winning--emphasis on cautious. When he starts tanking like he did this morning, it makes me very nervous. He gets cranky when he's exposed.

19. History reflects interesting coincidences between terror alerts & bad PR
Go to Taegan Goddard's political wire:
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2004/08/06/bush_approval_vs_terror_alerts.html

Click on the link called "interesting chart" and the narrative called "timeline and description". There is a terror alert every time the * Administration runs into a PR problem.

If DimSon is in imminent danger of losing the election, I wouldn't put anything past him.

21. Nixon was scarier but still more likeable
maybe 'cause he was just kinda freaky.

CheneyFuckyou is really scary.

I have never found Bunnypants the twisted moranic shrub that frightening. More like just a total embarrasment and that I'm living in this alternate universe where everyone pretends he is worthy of being President of the United States, when maybe chief Dogcatcher is a stretch.

God Bless America and God Bless the world. No more terrorist attacks and let this nightmare end.
