This spam is going around re the Heinz company & Teresa
"Made in Mexico

Shortly after reading the following e-mail content, I happened to look at the label of a jar of Heinz sandwich slice pickles. Yep.... Made in Mexico"

Check some of your Heinz products. "Sen. John Kerry keeps talking about U.S. corporations leaving this country and setting up shop in foreign countries, taking thousands of jobs with them. He is right, because that has happened. However, he is trying to blame it on George W. Bush.

As far as I know, Bush has not moved one factory out of this country because he is not the owner of a single factory.
That cannot be said about Kerry and his wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Kerry's own 32 factories in Europe and 18 in Asia and the Pacific. In addition, their company, the Heinz Company, leases four factories in Europe and four in Asia. Also, they own 27 factories in North America, some of which are in Mexico and
the Ca ribbean. 80% of Heinz products are made overseas. I wonder how many hundreds of American workers lost their jobs when these plants relocated in foreign countries.

I also wonder if the workers in Mexico and Asia are paid the same wages and benefits as workers in the United
States. Of course they're not. However, Kerry demands that other companies that relocate should pay the same benefits they did in the U.S. Why does he not demand this of the Heinz Company, since he is married to the owner? If Kerry is elected, will he and his wife close all those foreign factories and bring all those jobs back to America? Of
course th ey won't. They're making millions off that cheap labor.

Lets keep our jobs at home"

Has it been debunked yet. I understand she may not have holdings in Heinz but is any of this factual?

1. Heinz has factories all over the world, because they sell their stuff
all over the world.

Currently, 60% of the sales of the H.J. Heinz Company are outside the United States and to accommodate those customers by providing facilities closer to those markets, the company maintains a number of overseas facilities that provide products for consumers in those markets. This allows Heinz to pack the freshest ingredients, tailor its recipes to local tastes and deliver the finished products in a timely and efficient manner. In the United States, Heinz makes its flagship ketchup in factories in Fremont, Ohio; Muscatine, Iowa; and Stockton, California.

10. Re rumors:
Thanks for the reminder about snopes. Last week, a friend received a mass e-mailing asserting that TH-K's foundation was providing funds in support of unrestricted Muslim immigration to the U.S. The message also included a few other fear-producing "facts."

Of course, my friend was convinced that it was all true.

9. Oh yeah, Next you will tell us that French Fries
were created in Belgium!? (sarcasm) Or that Saddam was NOT behind 911. Jeez, don't you watch Fox News?

Btw, saw some Heinz ketchup in unbreakable containers that looked exactly like the ones "W" ketchup comes in. Any chance that Heinz makes W ketchup? I think it would be great if they did - making money off of an ignorant, mis-guided boycott of their product.

5. The Heinz family only owns about 4% of the Heinz corporation
They have no real say in how the company operates.

And while the Heinz corporation gives to both parties, they give the majority of their donations to Republicans. Look it up.

That's what makes the whole 'W Ketchup' thing so hilarious in my opinion. They are boycotting one of their own donors!

7. I did some digging on John Heinz
(actually Henry John Heinz III) and found out he was involved in health care, elder issues, all that sort of touchy-feely human stuff. What this screed doesn't tell you is that Senator Heinz was moderate to liberal and would kick George W. Bush's stingy, worthless ass.
