1. Saw it earlier -- Excellent
First half-hour is MUST SEE TV.

Didn't care much for the second half.

Second half is mostly pop culture stuff.

2. on right now
displaced anxiety, failure to reconcile death of sister result in unresolved aggression:

cruelty to animals, heavy drinking are examples of how he avoided dealing with these neuroses, which became psychoses....my analysis there, naming it a psychosis

now dealing with the smirk

unanylzed SADISTIC streak

Tina says friends like him; how can he BE like that?

8. hitchens says it's too easy to diagnose
every time a dry drunk acts out in a way one can criticize, one could claim that's the problem

he didn't defend very well, though

weakest comeback I've EVER seen him come up with

he's clearly on the defensive

how ironic: wet drunk defending dry one

ha de HO de HAY!

11. ended on disappointing note: bush hiring smarter people
than he

they agree that it's one of his strengths, being able to work with those smarter than he is smart

they left it at that, leaving hanging the VERY obvious question: how the FUCK did all those smart people make so MANY horrible fricking decisions?

indeed, did they make ANY good ones at all?

besides good for their crooked pals?

14. Bush hired smart people? Man, how could I be so wrong?
I thought they had chosen him as the dumb president. Seriously, these people are not smart. They are clever, vicious, self absorbed, manipulative and self serving. On a continnum of character they are over the 50% mark in terms of exhibting sociopathic behaviors.

Look in an prison in America and you can find a weasel like Wolfowicz, a prick like Rumsfeld, an operator like Rove, and a princess like Condi.

There is no one holding them back. They reinforce each other.

12. Saw the show. Don't agree with the Dr.s assessment...I think
Shruby has a more serious disorder that goes beyond alcoholism. I think drinking was a "symptom" (or by product) of his underlying disorder. Remember, "Lord Shrubya the great" was doing some sadistic things BEFORE he became a drinker...............

I blame his family for forming his personality. Weird bunch, especially his mother.

13. that's what he said, basically
drinking is one aspect of his compensatory response scheme

as is his cruelty, both to critters and to people, expressed in various forms

did you see it? that's what I got from it, anyway

here's the other thread on it

15. I read about him and his book before he went on TV, so I had
an understanding of what he was promoting. I also heard old Fidel on C-span today quoting (at length =o/) from the Dr.s book as well. The emphasis seemed to be mostly on the "dry drunk" theory and I don't agree with it.

However, we all agree there is something seriously wrong with our chap in office "Lord Bush". I thoroughly enjoyed, in a sinister sort of way, that they put this message out on public TV in anycase...

Woohoooooooooooo }(

16. sugarbleus: can you think of anything, uh, sweeter than
having him melt down on TV, or be so obviously tranked out of his gourd that it will HAVE to be admitted that he's on something

SCHWEEEEEEET!
