Someone ripped down my Kerry sign in front of the house....
I can't believe some slimy little bush-licker tore down the Kerry sign on my front fence. I live in a liberal hot-bed (Sonoma County, CA). I found the sign laying there in pieces. I had attached it with a half dozen push-pins, which were nowhere to be seen.

I taped the sign back together, and laminated both sides with thick, clear plastic tape, and re-installed it with about 50 staples. It will take some time to remove it again, so maybe I will catch the Kool-Aid addled scumbag in the act. That would be fun!

1. With the added bonus
that if they try to take it down and/or tear it up again...

they will more likely than not, stick themselves with some of those staples!

4. and if they stick themselves with the staples, they might leave DNA
behind at the crime scene. Attention Freepers, you better start thinking before having your little tantrums!

The bushistas are really getting nervous when they resort to this vandalism stuff.

Cars getting keyed, signs shredded. Yeah, real law & order types. And real brave too.

Standing up to bullies is working if it drives them to infantile pranks in the dark of night. They still claiming to be the party of 'the grown-ups'?

41. I've got "Poison" from the Amazon that if you put on the end of the pins
...and if they stick themselves they will go into paralysis and die within minutes....Best part is that the poison isn't traceable and the coroner would just show they died of a heart attack/stroke.

*I seriously have this - On one of my trips to the Amazon, a Huarani Warrior traded with me his BlowGun and Quiver with Darts for some Nike Hiking Boots and other "Booty"....I brought these back and didn't realize till later that the Quiver was full of "loaded" darts with the poison that they use from a deadly tree frog that is used for hunting the monkeys that they eat.

Because I have Pachababies, I have these put away where they won't ever be "touched" but the stuff is lethal...I figure who needs guns (although I have some from skeet shooting) and if the revolution comes, I've got some good darts for the Neo-cons... hee hee....

Hey, now your sign has been to war and survived. You should pin a Purple Heart on your sign. It most definitely earned it!

3. There are nut jobs everywhere
Make an incident report to the police. Nothing will come of it, probably, but if there's a dedicated vandal out there, the cops might find a pattern, and who knows? Your fellow citizen might get an up close and personal look at the corrections system, or find out firsthand just how expensive fines can be.

8. Police report a great idea. True, it is likely nothing will be done, but
if everyone in your area does the same if they are vandalized, it will start annoying the cops (increased paperwork) and they might start looking for the cowards doing it. It is also good to have reports on file in case the vandalism escalates to more serious property damage.

7. Sure sign of desperation
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 12:25 PM by Catch22Dem
As a matter of fact, you ought to put a little sign up next to it that says:

Vandalism of this sign is nothing more than a sign of desperation and a blatant disregard for private property rights, which conservatives USED to hold dear. Furthermore, the tide has already turned. Destruction of my sign, can in no way, alter the inevitable.

Kerry/Edwards 2004
(whether you destroy this sign or not)

Yes, it should say all that.

ON EDIT - Spelled inevitable wrong. :P

18. A Good 'Sign'
Exactly.

It makes you so mad when low-lifes come on your property and destroy your property.

But, politically, it is probably a good 'sign' (pun intended) that the radical Republicans are feeling so frustrated that this is the kind of tactic they resort to.

9. thinly veiled comment by possible GOP neighbor
yesterday...

Upon walking her Boston Terrier puppy past my fence, we remarked on her little poopie bag she was carrying (hey at least she scoops!) She said: "Yeah, I don't know what it is, but puppy likes to poop in front of the Kerry sign." I was too busy thinking about whether that was a slam or not to respond with something equally as cocky!

In 2000, someone kept destroying my Gore/Lieberman sign everytime I put it up in front of my house in Chester Co., PA. As much as I hate the Bu$h signs, I will not tamper, because you know it will come back at you.

Hope your sign stays put this time. I have mine, along with my moveon bumper sticker safely inside my front window. :)

It says, "Support our troops, bring them home" with "Peace" in big letters in the center. How anyone can be against peace and bringing these kids home is beyond me. Anyway, we put it back with a big rip on it, and added a Kerry sign !! Today i will fly the Stars and Stripes, since we are taking the flag back from these warmonmgers.

The re-pukes and their media surrogates have done a stupendous job of making anyone left of far right, the enemy. The people who tore down your sign might even agree with its sentiment, but since it identifies you as a liberal, you MUST be attacked. It's as simple as that.

Candidate's husband steals signs

SPRING HILL - (AP) -- The husband of Republican congressional candidate Ginny Brown-Waite has admitted stealing and damaging campaign signs for her Democratic opponent, Karen Thurman.

Harvey Waite, 62, told a Hernando County sheriff's deputy that he had damaged a sign and removed others after he and another man were stopped in a pickup just after midnight Thursday with four Thurman signs in the back, sheriff's spokesman Lt. Joe Paez said. ''What he did was absolutely wrong,'' Brown-Waite said. ``The dog has been told to move over because my husband is sleeping in the dog house.'' Waite and Larry Laxton, 51, were not arrested because an officer did not witness the crimes, Paez said.

''I'm sad for my supporters who contributed to pay for those signs and for the many volunteers who spent numerous hours putting them up,'' said Thurman, a five-term congresswoman. ``And I also hope this incident does not distract from the important issues that we've been talking about.''

15. I was up in Sonoma for the July 4th parade - Great town!
The parade and festival were a sea of Kerry stickers - the Bush boot was NOT doing good business.

There was one middle aged guy I heard grumbling "Look at all these people wearing STICKERS to advertise what IDIOTS they are! JESUS!"

There was one other guy I saw on the dance floor with a big Bush-Cheney bumber sticker on his back. Other than them it was Kerry stix as far as the eye could see.

Your community is with you guy. Whoever did it is some disgruntled loser misfit who probably should move his butt to Reno or something if he can't handle living in one of a very few truly progressive regions of the country. Pity whoever it is - he has no friends!

I do hope you make a police report. It's not a big thing but your report, with others, might show a pattern. It might even get reported in the local paper. Cool, free publicity.

If it happens again, think "monkey trap"...nothing violent - maybe a thin layer of tanglefoot (that sticky stuff we put on trees to prevent bugs from crawling up). Hey, maybe a gooey layer of axle grease, creosote, and soot on the back would help catch the devil red black handed.

and last night someone spit on my car while it was parked at a restaurant (still broad daylight outside). I don't really care, I mean...I just cleaned it off when I got home.

Anyway, I thought to myself, if this person makes it a habit to spit on every car that has a Kerry sticker, he/she is going to run out of saliva very quickly! In addition to my car, there was another car in the lot that had a Kerry sticker--this out of about 8 cars total in the lot. And on the way to the restaurant, we must have seen at least a dozen other Kerry stickers on other cars. Hmmm....the rightwingers are pretty scared and desperate.

49. REPORT IT TO THE POLICE
No matter how trivial a crime it may seem in the grand scheme of things, GET IT ON RECORD.

First of all, the police need to know this is happening. Who knows ... you may be one of MANY people this is happening to.

You never know when a police blotter item is going to appeal to the police reporter on your local newspaper. If there's a spate of Kerry sign vandalism or car-keyings on Kerry Kars ... it might get reported in the paper, and more people will be willing to report the vandalism, and the cops may be just a little more vigilant in neighborhoods where there are a lot of Kerry signs.

I recently saw something on the news about some local politician (can't even remember the state) -- his signs were being stolen all over the place. Finally, he got out his video camera and hid and waited and waited by a group of signs until the perp appeared and stole a big pack of signs: it was his OPPONENT! Whose thieving puss was on TV all over the country!

Report it!
