A small act of "Resistence," Covering Coulter at Books-A-Million!

I attended a Political Meeting at my local "Books-a-Million store tonight. As I walked in the door there was a vertical rack of "Best Sellers" with Annie's face staring at me abou 7 shelves deep featuring her book "Treason." On a small table hidden behind another rack,(not a prominent spot, was Al Franken's book "Lies, the Right Wing Media Tells You."

I took two of the Franken books and covered Annie's nasty little face right in the middle of the rack where anyone coming in will see "Lies"/Anne Coulter/"Treason."

It felt great!!!

Little acts of "Resistance." If only I could do the "rounds" of all the chain stores in my area and cover her evil-doing presence with Franken, Conason, Moore, or Alterman......Giving the Wingers a bit of their own medicine right back at 'em....because we don't have a voice over the airwaves anymore....we have to do this kind of thing. It sounds adolescent for me to be excited about this.....but, I am!

Type up strips of paper that say "If you want the truth go to democraticunderground.com" and slip them into every copy of Coulter's book.

of people can make a HUGE difference...it's easy too...make a phone call to your congress reps..write an email...cover a nasty book...

I covered several rows of a magazine (I think it was Woman's Day) in my grocery store...it had shrub and laura hugging each other with a big headline about their 'faith'....almost lost my lunch...but I took a deep breath and creative looked busy around the magazine rack, as I stuffed that crap into the back behind everything, and then put other more reasonable magazines even on top of that...it looked so much better when I got done with it...these magazine covers are getting so OBSCENE and DISGUSTING, normal reasonable people should NOT have to be exposed to that...

P.S.....when I got done, I felt like you did....PATRIOTIC...

10. ROFL! I never thought about the grocery stores....I should start doing

that. I saw that cover you're talking about and it annoyed the heck out of me.....I should have thought of that. Will start checking. There's always some Bush/Faith thing here in my grocery stores...And, always long lines. You can do alot in a long grocery line as you browse to pass the time........hmmm.

16. Thinking about this more...why not print out a bunch of book sized sheets

of paper of that great graphic of Annie and just place them in front of a few of the books. Not as much work as covering them and quick and easy to do without somebody catching you. It' sure would be a laugh.......and some folks might appreciate the joke...while getting a good message at the same time. :think:

7. I turned her upside-down at my local Hell-Mart

Actually, Hillary's book was on the top shelf, middle shelf had some crap about bush being a brave leader (turned him upside-down too, there were people around, so I couldn't **** on the book, lol) and ann colder on the bottom shelf, who got flipped as well.

Very small acts, but you know, pennies add up to dollars, and so on...

14. Ann is strictly bulk sales

not individual sales. Rightwing groups buy the Coulter and Hannity type books in bulk. Then, they're either warehoused or handed out as freebies at those pathetic rightwing love fests. Individuals do not buy those books. I have yet to see a person on an airplane, riding the bus, or sitting in a Starbucks with Coulter's book or Hannity's book. I've seen plenty of people with Hillary's book. The bestseller lists are being manipulated by rightwing corporate interests. People are not reading those books. It's another Rovian ruse to impact the general perception that these people have huge followings. Then, the media have these over-rated whores on their shows due to impressive book sales. It's a sham. It's manufactured. Rightwingers aren't readers. They're followers. They listen to hate radio or soak up Fox Spews. They're passive. They don't question. They recite. More liberals have probably read Coulter than conservatives. The "know your enemy" philosophy.

15. What you say is true......I've never seen anyone carrying around one of

those books. They have their own media campaign just to promote their own stuff....It's like a beast that feeds on itself. They make their own news about themselves, buy their own books, fund what seems like hundreds of RW Think Tanks that are everywhere with on the airwaves always being introduced as "experts from Heritage Foundation, Peoples Tax Forum, ......all kinds of names which have nothing to do with what they are or what makes them expert. It's sickening.

Just seeing that rack with Coulter's face tonight was free advertising for her sorry screed of hate and lies.

Yeah.......we've got to do these little things more often. Creativity beats dull brains every time...and those folks just use their braun and money......not their brains.

13. I did that at a mall a good while back

I was looking for some dem books and all they had out was repuke shit."Bu$h at war" was all over the place.Soooooooo.......I turned all the books around and put other books in front of them to boot! About an hour later,I stopped by the book store and they were all turned back around.....the dictator's face glaring right at me! I can't stand all these facist nazis. They are ALWAYS in your face. It's like we are living in THEIR country. :puke:I wish they would all just GO AWAY.

17. I did it at a Borders Bookstore

I saw HIllary's book and Anne the man's book on the same display at the front of the store. I just casually walked over to the rack, looked at a few back covers while I turned Anne's book backwards and upside down.

Not much...but hey, I enjoyed it.:evilgrin:

18. My daughter did this at Borders Tuesday

She covered all the Ann Coulter books displayed in the front. She's 11, but a force to be reckoned with.
She's seen her mom do this before as well.
