Hope comes from working together
I am a "progressive." I really hate labels, but sometimes you need shorthand for what you believe. I don't belong to a little club, I'm not fanatical or fundamentalistic in my beliefs, or at least I try hard not to be. I believe that these are complicated times that will require complicate, long term solutions. I believe that real change is more of a sunrise rather than a sunburst.

Does John Kerry perfectly embody every idealistic belief that I hold? Perhaps not fully. But where I part company from people who tirelessly bash on the candidate and the party is that I do fully believe that John Kerry represents steps in the right direction - we're not there yet. "American can do better." But I also believe that Kerry and the party this year represent a hope for tomorrow that George Bush and his party absolutely do not.

And for the life of me I cannot understand why that isn't enough for some people this year. We're not "done" when we elect Kerry president. The real work only begins - but we can't all of us on the left be excited about POSSIBILITIES afforded by this candidate and the democratic party in the white house that would NEVER EVER be afforded under four more years of Bush?

That is my question.
