"Pre-Prime-Time Dean takes a sharper tone" USA Today
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 06:38 PM by madfloridian
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/president/2004-07-27-dean-usat_x.htm

SNIP.."BOSTON — Howard Dean disrupted the official good-news-only convention Tuesday with sharp jabs at the president nobody is supposed to bash this week. True, they didn't come in his prime-time appearance at the podium. But there was no shortage of TV cameras trained on him when he joked about calling President Bush a fascist and suggested his administration likes to burn books...."

SNIP..."Tuesday afternoon, more than a dozen TV cameras recorded his far edgier remarks at a rally sponsored by the Campaign for America's Future, a group backed by labor. He poked fun at the Democrats' attempts to strike an upbeat tone and won roars of approval whenever he strayed from the positive path.

SNIP..."Dean said the future of politics is interactive "two-way campaigns" modeled on his presidential campaign: Dean supporters suggested slogans, formed a "Dean Defense Corps," wrote their own fliers and decided where to distribute them.

"There were a few little slip-ups," Dean said with a chuckle. "You can't call the president a fascist. ...You can't quite do that. And we're not trying to do that this week anyway."END SNIP

All those TV cameras....nothing on TV...except on viewing on C-Span. It is good to know he was letting his true self show.

Calling the conference to order:

8. C-Span showed it this morning.
Then they showed Moore this afternoon. They will probably show it again, maybe not until Friday or the week-end. Should be very interesting.

7. MF, help! I missed Dean's appearance at this conference.
I did get to see Moore. Will this be repeated on CSPAN?

Is there a transcript anywhere?

I just saw Racicot complain about Dean's remarks. (It was funny.)

10. Hopefully C-SPAN will re-run it (I missed it too)
As for what Mark Racistcot thinks about it, that's only slightly less important than what the other Reupublicans Al From and Will "traitorous shitbag" Marshall think about it.

12. How to say "Bush is a facist" without calling him a facist:
"Some say he's a facist..."

And I can just see Dean's eyes with the devil in them when he said that.

14. Bush is NOT a monkey-toe sucker, so quit saying that.
Nor is he a wombat molester. Please, let's take the high road here.

15. Remember Lakoff's lesson: "don't think of an elephant."
Dean loves Lakoff, and when I saw this article I realized what he was doing.

LOL He is saying not to call the president a fascist. So of course that Lakoff elephant comes to mind.
