Vieiro de Mello was a request to UN by Colin Powell back in may of this year. So that along with the world bank meeting in the same building belies the mystery to why it was a target. Revenge for UN sanctions. Nevermind who proposed them or enforced them, they were UN sanctions.

Revenge for years of inspections that were humiliating to the populace.

Revenge for a perceived (right or wrong) subordination of the UN to US wishes (see sanctions....inspections.......first war)

So whoever did it gets a big bang, makes the US look really bad, and it's relatively simple to pull off.

You're post makes no sense in the context of what I said to you.

My point was that it's pretty obvious why Iraqi resistance would attack the UN...regardless of this one particular person who was killed.

Who's to say if he was targetted or not. 20 people were killed, not just him. And they had to park under SOMEONES office!
