3. Yeah? Question mine all you want
We give in little by little by little ...

pretty soon we're backed against the cliff surrounded by people who think they should hate us.

WHY are you against insisting our "leaders" tell the truth?

By letting Obama say Bush didn't lie, is to accept Bush's lies.

It makes Obama a liar.

Since when did the truth become something to be doled out in careful measures?

Goddamn, I'm really really shocked at some of the atttiudes here on DU, like the one I just read that mentioned "the need for Dems to watch what they say."

The need? Gag me. The need in this country is for THE TRUTH and if our leaders can't provide it, we NEED DIFFERENT LEADERS.

This guy is gonna be the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention. Understand what that means?

7. So, he is gonna be Keynote?
Have you ever heard the phrase "Keep your powder dry"? Have you ever heard of the word "tactics"? Have you ever read Machiavelli?

As much are it is desired by some, the world is just not gonna do the thing the way you want them, every time. Nor the way I want them. The telling point is how we react to these constant infusions of reality.

It is my impression that you are not reacting well. You are lashing out in all directions. Not good.

2. What do you mean barely worth linking?
I love this place. It's about the only place on the internet I can go and hear liberal points of view without the disruption of the freeper mindset destroying the conversation.

I guess I don't know what you are basing this on...

5. You're sadly right.....
The middle school mentality of "my way or the highway" is about as smart as it is effective (not very). However, if some people get off on feeling what they consider "righteous" indignation, let them rant. They'll get the government they deserve if enough people follow their lead.

6. Stewie!
That being said, I agree. It's like people are just looking for something to hate our candidates for. What I think is bizarre about the whole situation is that Obama didn't say anything bad. He said the president was sincere but misguided, and then went on to catalouge all the failures of the adminstration in Iraq.

Someone else posted this, but I think it frames it up nicely. It's not that Obama said anything wrong, it's that he did say it with enough rabidness.

10. Obama seems like a winner, that's why his statements were so disappointing
There's a real fear that BushCo will get away with their heinous crimes, and anytime I hear someone soft-peddle or exonerate them I get REAL uncomfortable. I know we have to win, but shit, I don't want our people to help prove that justice is subordinate to expediency.
