This right wing e-mail takes the cake, re: Iraqis.
Has anyone else seen this? I see this stuff daily, but this one goes above and beyond. Above the text is a picture of fat ugly guys in cammos but I don't know how to post the picture. One of my mother's puke friends sent it to her (she's a registered dem. who votes puke because of abortion):

"The Pentagon announced today the formation of an elite fighting Group called
U.S. Redneck Special Forces (U.S.R.S.F.)

Bubba, Hoss, Cooter and Boo will be dropped behind enemy lines
with the following information about the Iraqis:

'The season opened last weekend!

There is no limit!

Taste just like chicken!

Some is queer!

The don't like Beer, pickup trucks, or country music!

They are directly responsible for the death of Dale Earnhardt!

The don't belive in Jesus!'

The war should be over in a week!"

I am deeply offended by this, yet I can't quite articulate it. It's like conservatives "putting down" the more fascist members of their clan, but in truth they are really bragging about them, and making a light of something that is a tragedy. It's beyond tasteless even for them.

1. It doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense...

Actually, it doesn't make any sense.

Apparently, you intercepted a message that is in code, or is some kind of in-group meaningless chatter. Advice: Disregard.

2. Nah, I saw it too.

It came with a picture of four guys, mostly obese, hoisting rifles and looking a little confused. I thought it was pretty funny, but I have a wide-open sense of humor and find sacred cows quite tasty.

For instance, I liked this a lot: http://www.jibjab.com/thisland.html

On edit: removed some redundancies

3. Bubba, Hoss, Cooter and Boo would be shitting their pants
and praying to Allah for their life in about ten minutes

5. I can't believe the right is proud of people like this in their ranks.
This e-mail reminds me of people who always say "hold me back" when they are pretending to refrain from getting in a fight.

This is like a group "hold me back", but it's ironic in the sense that did not Abu Ghraib prove that Bubba, Hoss, and Cooter are precisely the people (along with Ellie Mae) that ARE fighting this war?

Did Bush et al know this all along, that once the Iraqis were attacked they would fight back and then any action on our part would seem justified? Is this in a propaganda book somewhere?

9. To be strong you have to kick ass
is the mantra. They're all thugs who never learned the meaning of right and wrong.

6. Yes, because it ends with the phrase "the war would be over in a week"
it's an inside joke. Ha, ha.

7. A R-Winger in my office showed that to me..
Several months before the war started. That e-mail has been around almost two years.

8. Was it originally about Afghanistan?
It would make more sense that way...When I first read it the reference to "iraqis" seemed awkward. The war started in 3/03 so this would explain it, it's a cultural meme I guess, now it is okay to say "iraqis" when you mean "terrorists."
