Florida: Is Hood's office falling down on the job qualifying candidates?
One of my high school friends failed to make the ballot on such a stupid technicality that even the GOP incumbent, a moderate Republican, is taking up for him. Another challenger, going up against Katherine Harris's cousin, J. D. Alexander.....was told his check was received. Then he was told it wasn't. Two in the same county...fishy. Smells fishy.

SNIP..."LAKELAND -- Even the man who Bill Fenton wants to oppose for the Florida House thinks he should be allowed to run. Fenton, a Democrat, was not allowed on the ballot when qualifying closed Friday because state Division of Elections officials said he had not put the proper notation on his check to pay his filing fee.

Rep. John Stargel, R-Lakeland, who would run against Fenton if an appeal is approved, said Fenton should be allowed on the ballot."

SNIP..."Fenton and Democratic state Senate candidate Stan Zemankiewicz found themselves left off the ballot when qualifying closed. Zemankiewicz, who had been running against Republican state Sen. J.D. Alexander of Lake Wales, said Friday that he thought the state computers were just running behind Friday because he had checked and been told the division received his fee.

But election officials said they didn't receive all the necessary paperwork from Zemankiewicz...."END SNIP

Fenton failed to qualify on technicality.

1. Kicking because what happens in Florida is important.
Glenda Hood's office apparently messed up two candidates with poor information and technical mistakes. I just wonder if it is happening elsewhere.
