Newsweek or Time Magazine?
Thinking of subscribing to one of these 2. Looking for current events but don't want an ultra RW version of them. Is one better than the other?

Though U.S. News & World Reports wasn't bad when I used to get it a few years ago. Not sure what has changed.

You got the CBS...!
And the ABC...!
You got Time and Newsweek!
Well, they're the same to me!

(c) David Byrne (from "True Stories")

No appreciable difference as far as I can tell....

6. I subscribed to Newsweek for over 20 years
I even kept it through the Clinton hunt and impeachment. But I cancelled it after December 2000 when I went into a voluntary news blackout.

The other day I was cleaning out some stuff and found one of the last issues is got, from the week of December 11, 2000. Al Gore was on the cover with the words: "Gore's Last Stand?" :(

8. Time...
Although I really see no difference between the two. I also like US News and World Report but read it with trepidation.

9. I used to think Newsweek becuz they were owned by Graham
family which was more democratic while TIME was owned by the Luce family which was republican--but now I don't really see any difference between them--they both are pretty right wing to me.

11. I second The Economist
You can't beat it for well-written news & analysis from every corner of the world. Its only "bias" is toward free-market capitalism, so if you're a staunch Socialist, protectionist, etc., you may want to look elsewhere.

12. Try "The Nation"
They're a weekly that have been around for 100+ years, and they really hit a lot of news that the corporate media won't touch.
