In the above cartoon, the artist forgot to depict the NARROWING OF THE MINDS of the kids in the madrassa -- 'scuse me -- Fundie school on the right. Don't bother drawing any of the extensive fossil evidence supporting the theory of evolution on the blackboard on the right ... not on their agenda. Draw the little fairy tale that is Adam and Eve and the Snake and the Apple, and tell them it's fact.

And ANOTHER thing ... if there's chaos in the school on the left, it's because of Bush's goddamned TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY and Bush's goddamned LIE OF AN IRAQ WAR ... etc. etc. He's left EVERY child behind. Grrrrrr!

I'm really pissed off now.

Most of the adults in my family have been teachers. Looking again at the unengaged person at the teacher's desk on the left makes me insane. My family members have WORKED THEIR BUTTS OFF for YEARS to educate children in their public schools. Stressed themselves into compromised immune systems because they care so much about doing a good job for those kids.

Yes, there are substandard professionals in every job, including teaching. But GIVE ME A BREAK with the public-school teacher ignoring the children and reading a magazine.
