A brave young DNC volunteer just knocked on my door.
I'm on the edge of a super-liberal area and the area that collected enough Repugs to knock Cynthia McKinney out of office. She said reaction to her knocks have been very "generational" here in red, red Georgia. She was looking for money for Congressional races here and in Battleground states. I couldn't resist and gave her a check for $35 even though I sent $50 to the party just yesterday.

She was very cute in her bright red DNC t-shirt.

2. Don't just blame Repugs for that
I supported Majette over Cynthia too, and I'm far from one. Just don't like Cynthia. I realize you probably disagree. Hope Cathy Woolard wins it this time.

Happen to catch the debate the other day? Seemed like total amateur hour. Only McKinney and Woolard seemed to be worthy of the stage. Surprising given so many of the others are also long-time politicos. Vaughn was a total joke.

4. At the time I supported McKinney for her voice against Bush.
Now we have many voices, so Cynthia would not be my first choice. I guarantee a run-off between Woolard and Levetan.

7. Ya think?
I do expect a runoff. Don't think Cynthia will make it into that? I'd really like to see some polling on the district. We're less than a week from the primary, after all.

Hey, happen to see the Senate candidates at Ashton's in Decatur last night? I made it. Not a bad event, but no Majette or Squires unfortunately. I'm going to the GPTV debate on Sunday though.

3. What did she mean?
What does her "generational" comment mean in your opinion? Did she mean older people or younger people were more supportive of her positions?

8. She said it was nice to hear a friendly voice.
Brave, brave girl. I clued her in on a house to avoid at the end of my block....Fascists. And on the gay couple next door as a possibility.

I suspect she was hoping for the best because of my very prominent Kerry sign in our front yard.

9. It will be McKinney and Levetan
Levetan, the good ol boy network 68 year old woman is going to beat Woolard even though Woolard is clearly better than her. Now here is the importance of all this.

Cynthia will definately make the runoff. I'm hoping she gets the win without a runoff by getting the 50%, but she will definately get the most votes - bank on that. She's got the biggest field team and her base is energized because it was felt that a very popular candidate in the Black community was taken out by Republican crossover and a media that totally twisted everything she said.

Have you been to Fahrenheit 9/11 at Stonecrest? Fact is she never said the president knew - no she asked what did the president know and why were warning signs ignored. Isn't that the begining premise of Fahrenheit 9/11. Unfortunately the Right Wing South East Legal Foundation backed by national groups spread the lie as well as the falsehoods about terrorist funding. And now AIPAC is planting lies in some Jewish newspapers about McKinney - look at the news web page and link to the truth about Cynthia - this anti semetic charge is utter garbage.

I can see how people like Woolard, but according to Liane Levetan's constant polls, the first of which Woolard said Levetan violated ethics complaints with, she is way ahead of Woolard.

So I have to ask, and please I really want to hear from people, what does the only truely progressive congressional district in GA do if it comes down to Levetan and McKinney? If you are voting for Levetan over McKinney do you remember her days as CEO? the people working for her? Her votes during her one term as State Senator that per Nadine Thomas were constantly siding with Repubs?

The old notion is that McKinney's base will be tougher to turn out for a runoff. McKinney per the campaign reports doesn't have a ton of money since her base tends to not have a lot of cash. Levetan will be flooded with the anti cynthia money. I would think that the Woolard vote would go for Cynthia and not Levetan, but what if they just don't show? I fear the runoff. I hope Woolard makes it, but it doesn't appear likely at this point.
