I wonder - Is bush* at all concerned about bad intelligence?
There has been nothing out of the White House denouncing the CIA concerning the bad intel. Does this imply that bush* doesn't agree that the intel was bad? Is this the intel he ordered? Are we still getting bad intel from the CIA? Where the fuck is the media?

1. Intelligence is something he knows NOTHING about.
Maybe it's a Zen koan: What is the sound of one mind napping?

2. That would be admitting error,
thus diminishing his claim to divinity.

19. Like Cain and Connery in "The Man Who Would be King."
Set in Kipling's India, two British masons (and ex-soldiers) set out to conquer Afghanistan. The people think they're divine until one of them is cut on the cheek and the people see them for what they are -- mere mortals. Then they get theirs. Hmmm....NASCAR dads and 9-11?

4. He knew it was bad from the beginning. It doesn't matter. It never did.
All he ever wanted was plausible deniability. He got that. Why should he take the risk of not being allowed to do what he wanted to do if he pushed for valid information. Better to lie about the lie, so you can do whatever you want, because it isn't your fault.

Although, ignorance is bliss.

6. I thought he had "darn good intelligence"
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 06:02 PM by Canuckistanian
If not, then why didn't he order a top-to-bottom reform of the CIA?

As for the media, I was listening to NPR the other day and they did a segment about 'group think' as the main problem in the CIA. I was practically screaming at the radio. The agents and analysts who DID know their ass from a hole in the ground were reporting that WMD and Al Qaeda links were bullshit. But they were constantly told 'wrong answer, try again'. And Zero mention of The Office of Special Plans, the fake 'shop-within-a-shop" that provided ALL of those famous lies. Or the involvement of Doug Feith, the man who has the power to turn everything he touches into shit.

Was there any mention of OSP in the report?

7. the WH strategy once again
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 06:05 PM by jokerman2004
The WH strategy once again is to merely re-engineer reality so the CIA evidence makes no difference. They don't want people looking too closely at what went wrong in the CIA. Basically what went wrong is that somebody(s) bent to the pressure from Dick Cheney in his many visits to the company. What went wrong, and what's getting cleaned up in the CIA, is the compliance of certain CIA elements to the desires of the White House. A treasonous lack of professionalism. Bush and Cheney won't go down for it, but the collaborators will. And now Bush is just moving on and obfuscating the real issues here.

All they do is make speeches and change the way they frame things.

In his speech today Bush basically said it doesn't matter there were no WMDs. "We were (pause) RIGHT (pause) to go to Iraq!" Rove believe that all they have to do is SAY something, and the country will instantly reboot and start accepting the new dispensation.

8. That's a really good question. His lack of humility is STUNNING!
I think that is why people are so afraid of him - he really does act more like an animal than a human.

12. Keep that explosion a controlled one - it's hard to do, but I am
doing the best I can as well. I no longer talk to the freeper freaks any more - I won't even answer any questions or take bait. It bothers people who know me because I usually have an intelligent answer for them to think about - I am not even waisting my time on W supporters any more.

11. No he's not concerned about bad
intelligence. Nor is he concerned about shoddy itelligence, weak intelligence, lack of intelligence, emotional intelligence, the quintessence of life and existence (which would be... intelligence), or anything else intelligent. He is a fucking moron.

It just wasn't what W wanted to hear. So he got his buddies at OSP to give him the Intel that he really wanted.
