Freaky -- Anyone seen this?
http://www.usanetwork.com/series/the4400/flash.htm

It's got a pretty clear "rapture" meme trigger at the heart of it. It's also clearly reminiscent of that Spielberg "Taken" film.

Thats two rather disturbing mass-fantasies for the price of one.

Is this Summer entertainment? Is this an inoculation of fear suggestions? Is this some other form of propaganda? What's your best theory folks?

:tinfoilhat:

This is not an endorsement. Everyone's gonna see it anyway...

3. nah, typical abduction by ET
then a return, albeit belatedly, to a planet they no longer recognize and a bunch of superstitious idiots who don't trust 'em. You know, morons. Repuglicans. Looks like quite a little horror movie.

7. No It's not about the rapture
Edited on Fri Jul-09-04 07:31 PM by jokerman2004
But there's enough of a similarity between the people disappearing in the film, and the whole idea of the Rapture, which is apparently all the rage in some scary little neighborhoods of Christianity these days.

Enough to get the audience to make mental associations.

2. Looks like fun.
I'm a fantasy fan anyway. It doesn't mean that I can't tell the difference between it and reality.
