What if Bush/Cheney win or steal it in November???
What could be more frightening than that?

Whether it's won, or stolen again, what do we do then?

Our country is barely recognizable as a democracy now. Another four years of these Huns will turn us into an entity that any dictator/autocrat in the history of this planet would have envied.

Damn, can anyone think of a more insane scenario than a second term with these cretins in power?

I ask this with a sense of dread. WHAT DO WE DO THEN???

2. Recall when Nixon won in 68, then in 72
I think the outcome of a Bush inauguration next January would be a natural spasm of the populace.

I wouldn't advocate it, I would simply expect it.

...and not just in America but all around the world.

And it will be many times larger than the protests on February 15, 2003.

Short of storming the White House and arresting them by force, we can't do anything else. Sorry to tell you that, but that's all we can do.

I don't have the answer as to what we do. Which might mean we have become a nation of sheep.

But, somehow, I don't think so and my answer to that is Baaa, humbug.

On a more serious note, people who have been raised in freedom will not long tolerate tyranny. However, they first have to recognize that tyranny for what it is. It's amazing and mind-numbing that the vast majority haven't yet grasped what's happening.

11. All hell will break loose for real
Right now all efforts are focused on simply voting them out. That's as it should be. However, if they prevail and especially if they honestly get about half the vote, the divisions in this country become explosive. It will be an earthquake. There will be nothing left to do but to try to stop them and they'll try to stop us and it's going to get very ugly. It's the least we can do.

27. But what if they win or steal it? Then what???
The real question here is what do the rational, sane, human beings on the face of this planet do to stop those whose only goal is power, profit and dominance?

The middle class is shrinking. Another four years and the term "middle class" will be an anachronism.

40. Cyrano, I disagree with the premise in your question
I predict rational people will be voting for Kerry/Edwards in large numbers.

Voters won't allow this election to be stolen, either. They are more vigilant to the possibility of irregularities. I suspect the election results are going to be closely scrutinized on a precinct by precint level.

25. WHAT DO WE DO? WE RISE UP LIKE NEVER BEFORE...
That would probably really wake up the sleeping giant, and you would see more and more scared stupid people coming over to our side. It often takes more than four years to wake the dead, but I believe that is exactly what would happen. The Bushies would push it too far, and the masses would rebel like crazy...I hope it does not come to that, but let's be prepared if it does.

29. can't say I agree with you
the absolute VAST majority of Americans would simple believe that the majority of their fellow citizens must have voted for him, the few that knew about any election fraud or vote tampering would have meetings and some would protest.

Most people would do NOTHING, Throughout history societies have shown that for people to rise up things need to get REALLY bad, and I don't mean bad for kids in Iraq or bad for women in Afghanistan but bad for them personally, they need to see their kids starving/jailed or killed to give a shit.

I wish it wasn't that way but if * steals (or less likely actually wins) another election the PNAC agenda gets pushed further forward, Americans find it even harder to makes ends meet and the rest of the world cowers and hopes that they wont be the object of the next war.

35. Damn , you just may be right
Most people will probably do nothing. It really might take us degenerating into third-world status before the majority of people "get it" and by then it will be too late.

Were this to happen, a thousand years from now, people (if they still exist) would probably wonder how we let ourselves fall into such an abyss of ignorance and darkness.

Nothing to do with politics, but about resource depletion. The problem is that politics can't fix it.

I think we need to make sure we have a man with a good heart in the big house when the news really comes in.

Where will we congregate. What will be the command structure of this "army". If we're going to wage civil war, we'd better be ready to win. The enemy would like nothing more than to wipe us off the Earth. Shit, we've reached that point!

34. It's better if it's stolen. Then the failure of our system is exposed once
more to the people, and we can organize around that. Same if he wins in the elctoral college, but not the popular vote. It will also make the progressives and anti-Bushies more militant. So all will not necessarily be lost. However, if they win fair and square (and with a majority vote), that truly is scary, because it will mean a majority of Americans have chosen fascism.

As a liberal Democrat, I am optimistic that a fair election is the solution.

If the election had been fair in Florida in 2000, Al Gore would be in office now and the country would not be in this mess!
