HS Junior Writes Terribly Sad F9/11 Review in the Springfield News-Leader
he and the "informed masses" he mentions must be spending too much time at Free Republic.

http://springfield.news-leader.com/opinions/today/0707-Fahrenheit-127567.html

Published July 7, 2004

'Fahrenheit 9/11' is a slap in the nation's face

"Fahrenheit 9/11" is quite possibly the worst film in the history of movies, including "Gigli." Not only did it present itself under the pretense of being a documentary, but it was not even aesthetically pleasing. I'm not sure what was more tragic, the film itself or the fact Michael Moore won an award for it. This criticism is only on the appearance of the film. The content is even worse.
The way I and the rest of the informed masses remember 9/11 time is dramatically different from "Fahrenheit 9/11." Mr. Moore would have you believe that President Bush knew exactly what was conspiring and almost welcomed it with a passive attitude.

Mr. Moore also mentioned that Bush flew Bin Laden's family out of the country. He later mentioned you didn't see the president flying Timothy McVeigh's family out of the country after Oklahoma City. Besides the obvious fact that the McVeighs are American citizens, neither family had done any wrong except share DNA with the real criminal. What would Mr. Moore have us do, execute any family for sharing a bloodline with a criminal?

Mr. Moore conveniently left out facts. You never hear about the 12 artillery shells that contained chemical agents. You don't hear about finding enough sarin and mustard gas to kill 500,000 people.

..more..

1. From my home town of Springfield, MO.

I'm not the least bit surprised. Ass*crack graduated from Central HS along with his brother. Very AG and very conservative. They wouldn't believe the truth if it bit them in the nose.

I didn't bother to hit the link. Springfield News and Leader was all I needed to see to know where it was from. Sad but the mentality there is one reason I don't ever want to live there again.

On edit: The kids name is Hunter Thieme....from the Thieme funeral homes??

8. I wonder how the movie played in general
with audiences there. I bet there are people even there who are fed up and disillusioned.

3. Well, the young man might want to pay particular attention to
the last half of the film since, if Bush is re-elected, he might be enjoying the sunny clime of Iraq and/or Iran very soon.

18. Hear, hear!
I cringed when I read he's going to be a high school junior. My age, and so blind to the truth. Sad, very sad. I've been a rabid progressive since the age of twelve.

Otherwise, you have to wonder what kind of critical thinking skills his school has been teaching. Yikes!

13. He didn't mention that he went to see the movie with a parent...
In most cases, a high school junior is under 18--did he sneak in? The film was R rated.

16. He uses "conspiring" rather than "transpiring." ROFL.. a freep...here's
quote from his review:

"Mr. Moore would have you believe that President Bush knew exactly what was conspiring and almost welcomed it with a passive attitude."

What's funny is that "Conspiring" really kind of fits what some of us think Bush was doing with 9/11.

19. Nice to see that they're sticking to their head up their ass mentality
Down in Springfield. I spent four of the worst years of my adult life in that town, and Lord how I loathed it. World headquarters for Assembly of God Church, four or more bible colleges, and a very, VERY conservative atmosphere. In fact it is most likely that a poor young black man was lynched down there a few years back. His body was found hanging from a radio tower, and it was called as a suicide, yet evidence at the scene, plus the guy's life was on the upswing, had no reason to kill himself. Police didn't a brush off investigation and ruled a quickie suicide. Rather interesting that this young black man was dating a white woman.

Hell, even I got pulled over eight times in four years either walking or riding my bike, simply because I had long hair. There are towns and cities in the Deep South that are more progressive than Springfield. This is the type of mentality that produces John Ashcroft, Jim Talent and Roy Blunt.

It is starting to loosen up a little. There is a small group of dedicated liberals down there, but they are few and fly below the radar. F911 probably did well in the week that it was in a theatre there, but I can almost guarantee that it gets pulled after only a one or two week run.

This kid is just spewing the hateful bile he was taught. Hopefully he will come on up here to Columbia and get an awakening once he gets into college here.

I guess they were conveniently left out because they only exist in your feverish imagination

21. Had to respond
"I wonder if this young lad had even bothered seeing the movie?

I also have an answer to this query in the article:

"Mr. Moore conveniently left out facts. You never hear about the 12 artillery shells that contained chemical agents. You don't hear about finding enough sarin and mustard gas to kill 500,000 people."

I guess he left them out because they only exist in the feverish imagination of the author. I wonder which is the worse sin, 'convenientlyi leaving out make believe facts or presenting them in a review?

Shame on you

Sincerely,"

25. I had to stop after the first sentence to post this.
How fucking trite it is the invoke "Gigli" when talking about how bad a movie is. I'll bet this prick didn't even see "Gigli", just "heard" that it was a bad move and thought putting "Gigli" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" in the same sentence would be cute.:eyes:
