No seriously, I can't wait that long. The Repukes in charge will never investigate Shrub or FUD (F**k U Dick).

15. Congress won't investigate unless they get pressure
Hopefully from the press since they CAN be effective when they want. Write to your Reps and Senators and demand something be done.

Other "Capitol Hill Blue" stories said that Bush has lost his mind and goes around cursing people in the White House hallways, and that Bush and Cheney will both be indicted over leaking Valerie Plame's name.

I don't believe Capitol Hill Blue stories.

9. I can see him going around cursing people... did you see the
description of his participation on the board of Carlyle years ago? The only thing he did was attend, tell dirty jokes... and that was it.

13. Capitol Hill Blues is not the only outlet carrying these stories...
...are you trying to say that you believe FratBoy and Dick are just honest, hard-working, mild-mannered Republicans?

17. Sounds like they're batting at least .500
I don't see anything hard to believe about "Bush has lost his mind and goes around cursing people in the White House hallways," and that particular story did scoop the NYT on details of the morning of Tenet's resignation.

As for the Plame thing, I doubt Bush and Cheney could be indicted because of their positions, but I wouldn't fall over dead if they were named as unindicted co-conspirators. Unlikely, yes. But not facially absurd.

I don't consider CHB *reliable*, but they're not THE WEEKLY WORLD NEWS either.

Google "Capitol Hill Blue + Wilkerson". I wish I could trust them but I don't.

5. hoo boy
Love the end of that story:

Cheney, however, is standing firm and recently told Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont to “fuck off” when the Senator questioned him on the Halliburton matters.

According to White House sources, President George W. Bush laughed the matter off at a recent cabinet meeting.

“Fuck ‘em all,” Bush said.

Hey, fundy Christians, there's your bold and determined leader taking the high moral ground again.

11. witnesses said Cheney said to Senator Leahy
Witnesses said Cheney said to Senator Leahy, "Go fuck yourself," not "fuck off."

This may be a minor matter by itself, but since I didn't trust "Capitol Hill Blue" before, they're getting the quote wrong only makes me trust them less.

7. Additional Tid-Bit (Related?)
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 11:27 PM by troublemaker
Reading this Capitol Hill Blue piece jogged a memory about something I'd read earlier. Fortunately I was able to remeber where. It was posted on Atrios http://atrios.blogspot.com/
White House Counsel Judge Al Gonzales is participating in an event with the President in Michigan. He will be back for the online discussion at approximately 5:15pm (ET) (http://www.whitehouse.gov/ask/question.html)

An interesting sidenote: earlier today the White House web site stated that Gonzales would be on Ask the White House at 3:30 PM. Now it says he had to go to Michigan to participate in an event with the preznit.

It leaves one to wonder what this event is and why Gonzales' participation in it was not planned in advance. -Holden
My first thought reading this was that it obviously wasn't because Gonzales needed to be at the event, but that Bush needed to talk with Gonzales during the flight.

16. these horrors tend to run together, but this scandal's different.
If the story is true (and Capitol Hill Blue is not always reliable, so this is hypothetical) this wouldn't be just another rotten Bush scandal; it would be a very big deal in the election.

If Cheney drops out because of his heart it's actually a small plus for Bush since he could pick a friendlier VP. But if Cheney drops out because he steered government contracts to Haliburton it finishes the election. It would confirm by implication every crummy thing anyone has said about this outfit. Game, set, match.

If I were those guys, I wouldn't be discussing this on the phone. Not in light of some of the enemies they have made.

18. Well, whatever but is it just me, or is Bush looking
a little green around the gills these days?

Personally, I think bush and cheney are both loose cannons, oops, don't want to leave out Rummy...they ALL swear like truck drivers. Especially when they don't get their way. They are bullies and as such, when they are mad, normal discourse fails them... We've actually SEEN bush and cheney lose their cool on any number of occassions. It's no mathmatical leap to conclude these men cut loose with the profanity and item tossings after the cameras are turned off.

I swear I saw laura bush sporting the remains of a black eye (her right eye) while she was giving a speech somewhere. It was on C-span about 6 weeks ago +/-...
